*Note: This configuration is used inclusive on SEA-PVG, ATL-LOS. It also frequently works SEA-ATL to provide rotation. These aircraft do cover flights to Europe All 36J seats will be sold because it has a crew rest module installed. Also, the Y seats are the older ones like the 777 with the older IFE system (only 767-300ER type with that, all others are the newer seats/system).
**All retired 6/30/2020 due to COVID-related fleet simplifications

What DL is believed to do is put all flights with 26J as the 76Z Version 2 configuration and then change it to 76Z Version 1 closer to departure as needed. If you select 20-21CDE when it is 76Z Version 2 and it changes to 76Z Version 1, it should seat you in 13-14CDE considering that 20-21CDE doesn't exist on the configuration it changed to. All other seats are numbered the same regardless of Version 1 or 2, although there may be minor differences such as row 20 being an exit row on Version 1.

There's no non-stop ATL-MAD showing for 12/17, not on ExpertFlyer, delta.com, or Delta's downloadable schedule.

Question for all you much more seasoned -300 flyers....what are the chances that the JFK-VCE flight will have flat beds by next April? I am working on award seats for my DDP's 50th Birthday celebration and this is a possiblity but really want to lie flat ya know? If the chances are slim to none, then will probably go IAD-CDG on AF so I can check the 380 off my bucket list.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I don't claim to be an expert, but I believe about 70% of the 767-300ER fleet will be converted by April 2013. As for specific assignments to routes, that's a much more difficult problem. Add in the possibility of reduction in weekly service for your specific travel dates, a schedule change that puts a 764 (good, as all have been converted to lie-flats) or A330-200 (still 176-degree recliners), and come to see that a Delta TATL schedule for >300 days away is really just a suggestion.

You have pretty much confirmed what I was thinking regarding the specific assignment to routes issue. I am disheartened to hear however that they will only be 70% completed by next year...by then I guess it will be time to start installing the zero gravity massaging lie upside down beds!
Thanks for your thoughts!

I find it difficult to sympathize with those who do not have to ride the old 763s every two months or so.

I certainly don't miss the recliner version of the 764 and am so glad I get the 'new' 764s on my run to LHR next week.

I'd love to understand what your intention in this post was. Are you predicting the demise of BE? The rapture? Asteroid hitting the earth?

Update question on flat beds in general

I have poked around the forum (and FAQ) but I'm still not clear on the availability of flat-horizontal bed seats (as opposed to the Inquisition old BE reclining seat. I have 2.3 Mil Delta miles (1.78 MQM), Flying Colonel, etc, but have not been flying on Delta since so many of the other airlines came out with flat bed seats. I fly a lot and don't want to get stuck on the old seat. Could someone give me a way to tell if the seats are flat? Which gateways have them. I fly to Europe, Africa, S. America, Oz, and Asia. Here are some questions I'd appreciate answers to:
1. Are there any gateways that have all flat bed seats?
2. What routes are the most populated with flat beds?
3. Looking at the aircraft types, which ones have been modified? (have all of any aircraft type been modified? Can you tell on the web site before buying a flight if it has the beds?

I spent some time poking around the forum, but it looks pretty random to me, so I thought that the FT folks were the ones to turn to.
Thanks much for the help!

I'll take a quick stab at this.

All 777s - both -200ERs and -200LRs - have been converted.

All 767-400ERs have been converted.

If you want reasonable assurance of a lie-flat business seat, book an intercontinental business class flight operated by Delta (not a code share) one of these types, for a travel date not far into the future (to minimize possibility of scheduled changes in aircraft type). JFK/Detroit/Atlanta - London Heathrow are all scheduled for aircraft with lie-flats.

Some fraction of 747-400s have been converted. A smaller fraction of 767-300ERs have been converted. All A330s, both -200s and -300s - retain recliner seats for now.

Delta.com shows aircraft type if one mouses over the flight number on the flight selection screen. On the same screen one will see a series of icons for AC power, video, etc. There may a figure in a recliner or a figure in a bed.
