I noticed this also. I hope they resume the 3500 FlexPerks bonus.

I did only one 3500 balance transfer option because I was under the impression the 3500 flexpoints would be awarded only one time/flexperks account.

I had emailed them and asked this specific question on both my personal and biz accounts, and was assured it was one set of points per offer (i.e. you couldn't write two cheques for $1000 each from the same mailing and expect two sets of points).

I had five CC applications in the last two years (May and November, 2009; July and August, 2010; January, 2011) Does this comport with others' experiences with US Bancorp, the Flexperks home company? (I have almost 800 credit score and no negative info on my reports.) The reject letter also says they based their decisions on info from CSC Credit Services. Anyone know what credit agency(ies) CSC uses to check credit info? (TA? EQ? EX?)

I recently also had a similar experience. I tried to follow-up both with US Bank as well as CSC. What a pain it was talking to US Bank, talking to the two reps I spoke with. Very uncourteous, made me consider to not do any business with US Bank. I did try to follow up with CSC without getting anywhere. I finally gave up and now decided to just not deal with US Bank ever again, if possible.

Offer for Business card

Just received an offer for their business card in the mail. Anyone knows if I apply for the business card successfully and then close my personal card, would the points combine or would I loose the points from my personal card?

Thanks!

You will be fine. One great perk of this card is that not only can you link your business and personal, but you can actually transfer your points to anyone for free.

Am I correct in thinking that if you book a ticket with FlexPerks points, you will not have any option to hold the reservation for 24 hours or cancel/refund the points within some window of time?

Flex will not let you cancel, or change, and the money will not go in your South West travel accouut it is lost.

Better to take a gift certificate and run....and cancel the card.

South West has it's own VISA..

Just curious, since many people do it with Expedia last year...

What if you buy a non-refundable ticket, online check-in for the flight so the airline takes control of the ticket, and then cancel it and retain the value with the airline?

Last year I got a Alaska ticket with Flexpoints. I missed the outbound flight by 5 minutes due to heavy traffic (don't think tooooo much... I really missed it). Alaska was able to retain the value of the outbound tix as a credit for future use and allow me to take the originally ticketed inbound.

Some airlines (e.g. American) can't cancel a tix if it's issued by a travel agent. However, once you do online check-in and the airline takes control of it, then they can do whatever needed. Of course you will lose the change fee, but you still get something out of it.

Once you get your Southwest ticket from FlexPerks, don't you have a normal reservation number which you can then enter at the WN site and change yourself? Did you already try that? Flex does not get involved once the ticket is issued.

Your comment doesn't make sense to me. Sure, Flex will not let you change or cancel the ticket, but that's true for any ticket they give you. You have to go through the airline and use the airline's change policy.

satman40 Mar 6, 2011 12:54 pm

When you go to SW site they will not let you change the ticket, I am trying to call SW but they have a long hold time, and I am getting disconnected.

If the ticket is canceled the credit returns to flex since they are to originator, will try tomorrow during normal hours with SW.

Thanks fro the help.

Flex is one to stay away from, the rewards are always a dollar short, and credit voucher 50% short.

As for the credit denial, it happens pull out another card and call them on the cell outside..IK bumped the limit on AMEX called and then the raised it, happens..

Chase INK gives you a full buck..
