I'M not a venture card holder, but if I understand it correctly doesn't one mile equal a penny? The redemption that I made essentially gave me two round trips for 30,000 points. The cost of these two tickets would have been $594. Wouldn't that have cost 59,400 venture miles or am I understanding the program incorrectly?
I wasn't trying to say it was better or worse than another card, but rather inform them that this is an option. Anyway, yes, it's a bit confusing. FlexPerks earns 1 point per $ but then redeems at a 2 cents per point rate. C1 Venture earns at double rate (2 "miles" per $) but the redeems at a 1 cent per "mile" rate. So looked at it that way, they both work out the same, except one doubles on the earning side and the other doubles on the redemption side. The differences have to do with the logistics of redeeming, as well as bonus opportunities, not with the redemption rate going from dollars spent to dollars redeemed. C1 tends be more flexible about redemption (you don't have to worry about any artificial "thresholds", and you can redeem for past travel purchases within the last 90 days that you simply charged to the card). C1's only bonuses (once past sign-up) that I'm aware of, though, are if you go through their online shopping mall. I'm not aware of C1 bonuses like FlexPerks has for BTs, for simply visiting a specific online site, etc. |
Just logged in to flexperkspromos.usbank.com and was very surprised to see a 15K bonus offer for $500 spending May-June on my biz card. On the personal card it was a (relatively) measly offer of 3.5K bonus for $1500 spending May-June.

Just Cxed my card on Fri, I sang the praises for Flex since it 1st came out but it longer adapts to the mkt.
I find the Cap1 Venture CC to be far superior. With fares going up its getting very hard to find a decent routing to the WC from NY that wont go over the $400 limit and when it did by $.80 it meant another 10k in pts, with Cap1 its 2 pts per $ on Everything and you cash out according to the price of the purchase And USBank was really the only 1 not allowing pts for the coins |
What's the best mileage credit card
Article in NYT gave U.S. Banks's FlexPerks Visa card very high marks as the best mileage credit card which can be used cash in dollars for miles. Thoughts, comments?. Need to switch to card that offers miles on all major airlines.:)

How much do you charge per year? Where do you want to go? From where? In what class of service? What time of year? And most importantly, why do you think you need a card that will let you redeem for travel on "all major airlines"? Do you really plan to fly on all of them? |

Annual fee is $49. Waived first year. Waived every year if I charge over $24K on the card. No problem for me. I usually fly domestic, CO or CA. But flew international last year Geneva and Rome. The year before it was Isreal. Killed me to pay for Geneva. Flying again to Geneva end of Jan. Hoping to cash in some United miles on Continental. Already I'm having problems the days I need to fly. Basically fly United to ski out West. International it's either Continental or Delta. Which is why I said "all major airlines". Comments, suggestions, recommendations. In the past a Visa card tied to one airline United and then AMEX to Continental and Delta worked perfectly. No more Continental on AMEX. Thanks How much do you charge per year? Most major airlines are members of one of three global alliances: oneworld, Star Alliance, or SkyTeam. Miles in one airline's program can typically be redeemed for travel on other airlines in the same alliance. So, for example, you can transfer Amex MR points to BA, and redeem for travel on AA; to AC and redeem for travel on UA; or to DL and redeem for travel on AF. All, of course, subject to award-seat availability, and each program's rules regarding redemption rates, fees, fuel surcharges, stopovers, etc. As was mentioned in the other thread you started, the SPG Amex card also permits transfers to airlines in each of the three global alliances. If your credit score is good, and you do not plan on applying for a mortgage in the next couple of years, I would probably try to exploit the various credit-card sign up bonuses (like 150,000 miles for getting the Citi/AA Visa and Amex cards, and the recently-expired Chase/BA 100,000-mile bonus Visa card). Good luck! |

I charge everything including toilet paper. CC charges have to be at least $50K a year. Which is why a good mileage card is so important to me. Only interested in air miles, not hotel. promo with Capella Hotels
I've just stumbled onto this promo on the flexperkspromos page:
Now your FlexPerks Travel Rewards Visa Signature® card can unlock savings of $500 on qualifying stays at Capella resorts. Make reservations at qualifying Capella luxury accommodations for two or more nights using your FlexPerks Visa card and receive a $500 account credit after your stay.¹ Has anyone used this? A quick look at the capella link showed that their resort in Cabo was $575/night, but in Ixtapa they had rooms for $225, so you could in theory get a free-ish 2-night stay. Haven't checked other properties. |
I know that coins don't work with this card but has anyone had experience with Amazon Payments?

Anyone else transferring points? I could use some.
Also, has anyone had their annual fee waived this year? My annual fee just came due and I rather not use 3,500 points if possible. |
