When the annual fee comes for me, they will either waive the fee, or I will burn thru the points and cancel the card.
US banks website sucks [moderator edit] ... C1V card is a flat 2% on travel and no forex fee which destroys this card. |
if you purchase 2 seperate tkt but from the same flexperks acct does each pass get 20.00 to spend on airline fees for a total of 40.00 or only one pass, perhaps the acct holder, gets 20.00? if u add the other pass to the cc acct as an authrized user will they then get 20.00? what if they are added as a joint cc holder?
anybody know the answer thanks |
You get $25 to use for each ticket redeemed.

Redemption success with some tweaking...
Just an FYI for massaging the reward booking engine...
We're planning a WDW trip, and had been watching the Skymiles rates, then today I peeked at cash fares MSP-MCO and there were quite a few for $393AI. Skymile rates were 60k+ With three windows open- delta.com, travelocity.com, and the flexperks engine, I could get the $393ers in the first two, but the flexperks site was showing 30k point itineraries. I went back, searched segment-by-segment, found the 20k path, but on the last page received an error message that the price had gone up. Re-doing dl.com and travelocity showed the itineraries available sub-$400. Just about to give up, and re-submitted segments, and it finally gave up 4x20k points on our first choice of days and times. Good luck. |
I have just under 30K pts, so I am spending a bit on the card to get to 30K pts.
I don't want to pay the annual fee which will be coming up. If I don't have a flight planned quite yet, what's the best way to extract the $600 of value for later, if I plan to at least threaten to close the acct? |

Hotel Awards
I just read this month's statement stuffer. Hotel awards can now be redeemed through Travelocity. This may be new.

I've had it with US Bank. I have been waiting for a spend bonus to post on four FlexPerks cards in the household for a total of 14,000 points. The promo promised points 4-6 weeks after the end of the promo. I has been over seven weeks and still no points. When I called last week I was told the points would post on Aug 19th which would be the statement date. I sent a secure message today and received the following via email:
We understand you are inquiring about your 3,500 bonus FlexPoints, Schutzee, and we are happy to assist you. Our records indicate that you have received the points, and they will be available once your next statement has generated. Please note that a statement will only generate when there is account activity. Therefore, it will be necessary to make at least one purchase on your account to generate a statement. So now I have to make four purchases and wait another month! Once I spent the points I'm dumping Flex Perks! |
Do good, fly free
I recently learned that Flexperks has a link for giving charitable contributions which gives the cardholder 3 points per dollar spent. Each point is worth up to 2 cents when used for travel. So, that's like a 6% rebate on donations! I'm going to start using this card for all of my charitable donations!

Welcome to FT, Frequent Miler. Good first post to remind folks about this nice bonus feature for donations. Their list of eligible charities is very extensive and you can search for your state and/or city for choices. I too use it regularly. Just go to the Rewards section on the Flexperk website and look for "donations" or click through to "my/all promotions" and you'll find the donations option there as well.
(I'm asking over on the Miles Buzz thread if there are any other credit cards that offer bonuses for making charitible donations and how to do so.) |
U bank flex perks
What a nightmare trying to negotiate this.
I've been with U S Bank a number of years, both personal and corporate, but when I get back home, I'm changing. Can't log in. Blocked cards three time this year (even though I live in Michigan and Florida ... and both have addresses registered with card). It's embarrassing when I'm making a purchase and the clerk tells me I've been blocked. Also ... how to get your "perks?" How do you find your way around their web page? Anyone else have thoughts? |
>>> US Bank FlexPerks: 10K Rewards? <<<
I recevied pre-approved US Bank card that earns 10,000 FlexPerks points w/$500 spend.
US Bank site states there are lots of "Merchandise" & "Gift Card" rewards but unable to see what 10,000 points will capture since you have to be logged in. 20,000 gets up to $400 airline ticket but I only plan on capturing 10K points for quick churn. Does anyone know or can screen shot rewards for 10K? Thanks! :) |
