I have a relationship with PenFed already and current have Honors Advantage already.
Is this card still worth it for the travel credit? I primarily fly Southwest. |
Just wanted to report back, I got a travel credit back on 3/11/22 for AA gift card 100 which I purchased December of 2021. My other card the credit was almost instant. Only took a couple days. When in doubt be patient. It looks like there's a manual or delayed component here. I also clarified this credit was for 2021, the rep told me I'm still eligible for credit in 2022

Ancillary purchases that count for the annual credit can be made at Alaskan Air, American Air, Delta Air, Frontier Air, Hawaiian Air, JetBlue, Southwest Air, United Air, and Virgin America.

Has anyone used United Travelbank in 2022 for credit?

When you call do they ask what the charge was for and how do you respond? Only one of my UA Travel bank charge for $50 from December was reimbursed.

I hate waiting for credits to post and like immediate gratification, but if you fly United enough, you could just do another $50 Travel Bank charge and see if it also reimburses in a few days, or you could just wait another 4-5 weeks and see if the one you already did credits automatically.

Here is the T&C:
"If you qualify for Honors Advantage (member of the military or Access America account holder) at the time of application, we will waive the annual fee on your account. If you were not eligible at account opening but subsequently become eligible, the annual fee will be waived on your next and each anniversary. If at any time you fail to meet the eligibility requirement, you will no longer be eligible for the waiver. You will receive advance notice of this change." [Boldface emphasis added.] |
DP: Fees paid when booking AS award travel were promptly credited.
|
Data Point: Fees for Southwest award travel were credited, as were Alaska Airlines baggage fees.

Is there anyway to check the remaining travel credit left for the year other than manually going thru the statements ?
It would be nice if they had a dashboard like chase. On another note, what are the best redemptions for the points ? IIRC, the points expire 5 years after earning them. |
