100 AA EGIFT CARD works last week.
|
Not sure if this is new, but there is a rewards card option in the GC category. It is a visa debit card with a 6 month expiry. Redemption value is 0.85c per point (same as walmart/amazon GCs). Not bad for cash equivalent redemption.
On a side note, does walmart or amazon GCs ever go on their sale ? |

Never seen any recent data with Southwest working. What was the charges for?

Fare differential on UA flight (over $100) did not work. Change was for two people, each of which the fare differential was just under $100, but for both was over $100. The transaction shows on the statement as one above-$100 transaction.
The DL trick used for Amex incidentals (use voucher/eticket for most of transaction and pay rest with card) did work for credit. It was about $80 for two people, transaction showed up as one purchase but was given two credits (~$40 each) as reimbursement. |

Yes but I believe travel fetches double the value. Too bad they dont let you combine house hold points etc or transfer points that way you can close the account still use the points. Let me know if anyone has found any other way.

I've mentioned before that I've found the best redemption of the points to be car rentals, because they seem to offer the lowest $ rates for some reason. It just happened again. After checking all the companies, plus AARP and Chase and Citi travel portals, PenFed portal beat them all again. And, yes, I was extremely careful to check that all the rates I was comparing were pay-at-the-counter and included all the taxes and fees that get piled onto the base rate.
