AA eGC finally credited! Took about 28 days.

Thanks for posting. I checked my account tonight and saw 2 $50 credits for 2 AA eGift Cards. It took around 30 calendar days. It was a nice surprise, since I applied for the card in late December and paid a $15 fee for expedited shipping so I would have time to attempt to use my 2020 credit.

I got 2 $50 credits in early January and wondered if they had actually been for my 2021 charge. Of course, now I know they were for 2020. Hopefully next year I won't have to use it for gift cards and can get reimbursed for some boozing while flying to who knows where.

Maybe SW GC doesn't trigger.

When did the card get a $100 AF for new applications? Any one have information on whether PenFed plans on applying it to existing holders at some point?

Are you talking about the annual fee? If so, where did you get the $100 from?

Here is the T&C:

"If you qualify for Honors Advantage (member of the military or Access America account holder) at the time of application, we will waive the annual fee on your account. If you were not eligible at account opening but subsequently become eligible, the annual fee will be waived on your next and each anniversary. If at any time you fail to meet the eligibility requirement, you will no longer be eligible for the waiver. You will receive advance notice of this change"

Yes, it worked better and faster than when the card was an AMEX, at least for me. My Southwest early bird check in was credited within days. But read the benefit details to be sure your airline is included. I found out the hard way that allegiant was not on a previous flight.

On a recent call to PenFed, I was advised that we were grandfathered for now. He had no definite answer for the future. If you are worried, just park 500 in a checking account and think of it as 20 percent interest each year. You can hardly find a bank bonus that stacks up to that!

I see a few people here have done the United TravelBank. Still no luck from any of you having the credit post?
