SuitCase Likewise my credit appeared last night...like manna out of the sky. I have two Visa Pathfinders so immediately headed to TB for another $100 purchase late night (unfortunately before today's DoC update). The transaction description from my new TB charge differs slightly from the charge that was reimbursed...so not sure if it will get credited.

My travelbank purchase from 1/7 still has not been reimbursed

SuitCase Still waiting for reimbursement on the latest TB charge

On the redeeming points side, it's worth checking the gift card section before defaulting to a Visa gift card to cash out points. They seem to have rotating sales on different gift cards where it's 2,640 points (some are a bit less) for a $25 gift card, instead of the standard 2,940. This brings the redemption value up from 0.85 cents/point to ~0.947 cents/point when redeeming for the on-sale gift cards. Right now a couple on sale are Bed, Bath, and Beyond, Chili's, and Apple.
I also got an email stating that there's a $50 statement credit after $1,000 spend in February on my Pathfinder card. The promo may be targeted (it explicitly listed "your PenFed Credit Card ending in xxxx" in the fine print,) and if transactions on February 1 will count (I got the email later in the day on February 1) but I'll probably pay my March rent with my card in late February to make sure I get that $50 credit. Subject line was "Earn extra Cash Back with your PenFed Visa Card!" EDIT: So I have took a closer look at the last 4 numbers, and they don't match either my Pathfinder card or my debit card through them - instead it matches an old Power Cash Card that they had opened without permission (closed within the month - long story) as a counteroffer to the Pathfinder a few years ago. Might have to give them a call and see what's up. |
so no one's credit posted yet

So it seems that the gift card trick no longer works. What are the expenses that officially can be reimbursed? Seat upgrade? Luggages? In flight purchases?
