10 June 2022 - The Biden administration will on Sunday end a requirement that air travelers to the U.S. undergo Covid-19 tests before departure, according to federal officials.
The testing requirement is set to end June 12 at 12:01 a.m.

All air passengers 2 years or older with a flight departing to the US from a foreign country at or after 12:01am EST (5:01am GMT) on December 6, 2021, are required show a negative COVID-19 viral test result taken no more than 1 day before travel, or documentation of having recovered from COVID-19 in the past 90 days, before they board their flight.
What types of SARS-CoV-2 test are acceptable under the Order?
You must be tested with a viral test that could be either an antigen test or a nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT). Examples of available NAATs for SARS-CoV-2 include but are not restricted to reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), reverse transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification (RT-LAMP), transcription-mediated amplification (TMA), nicking enzyme amplification reaction (NEAR), and helicase-dependent amplification (HDA). The test used must be authorized for use by the relevant national authority for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 in the country where the test is administered. A viral test conducted for U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) personnel, including DOD contractors, dependents, and other U.S. government employees, and tested by a DOD laboratory located in a foreign country also meets the requirements of the Order.

We are flying home ATH-IST-BOS. We will be asked for covid test results in ATH since we originally board there. Will we be asked again in IST?

You may, or may not. If you have the TATL boarding pass in hand in ATH you may not, but you should be prepared for both scenarios. if you get the second boarding pass in IST, you most likely will be asked again. That's my guess.

it can happen, or it may not happen.
I have experienced both ways, being asked and not asked, regardless of airlines and airports, even if I was already issued boarding pass for the entire journey at the first embarkation point.

Has anyone got any experience with 'Rapid Test and Trace' for return to US. Their system is similar to Azova using the kit you purchased. However, Azova insist on continuing to video while the test is processing which is a problem (means turning my laptop upside down) and also depends on continuous reliable internet which is not always reliable. Is Rapid Test & Trace more user friendly?

Does anyone have any insight into if and when the US is going to drop the testing requirements? Surprised the airline industry is not pushing for the testing to be dropped.

I am flying in August so I remain hopeful.... BUT my plan to be tested prior to departure will remain in place until definitely NOT required!

The airlines and travelers may want to drop the requirements but how about the testing sites and online options?
I wonder what the profit margin is for the airport on site locations—from what I’ve seen some have a steady line of customers and from the prices they charge…….

Use Azova app with Flowflex rapid test for return to US. Anyone tried?
I was able to get my hands on some flowflex rapid antigen tests. I researched and found you can use those with a proctored service for 20 dollars and get a lab report for return travel into the US. Has anyone tried this?
