Interesting observation on gender differences amongst high school singers...

One of the choirs I conduct is the large (non-auditioned) mixed ensemble, which numbers about 80 total (balance is about 50 women/30 men, which is not all that bad). We generally have one (1.5 hr) rehearsal together per week, in addition to one hour for men and one hour for women separately.

I've found that the girls are more consistent, but when the boys are "on," they're better. Wonder what conclusions one can draw from all this.

I should! Got a couple in NYC (mostly Brooklyn) in the later spring...as for this month, anyone want to come see a high school production (albeit a fairly high-quality/production-value one) of Grease? :p

+1, my friend. 3 am was a totally normal bedtime during college and I had a church singing job with downbeat at 8:25 am 4 out of 5 days a week. And I got sick once in four years.

I have prepaid reservations at SPG properties in DC for both Friday and Saturday, and honestly, that's the #1 thing worrying me about not getting there tomorrow. I'm OK (well, mostly) with sitting at home alone for a three-day weekend, but $150 down the :rolleyes: is going to suck.
