Off to a meeting with a potential business partner. No real desire to go but I need business. Such is life.

For well over thirty years now I check the rental for a spare with air(pound on it to make sure) and a jack.
Twice I've caught cars without one or the other... And, each time as I'm getting the paperwork done for another car I get asked the question, "Why would you check for that?"
"Have you ever had a flat with no spare?"
"No"
"Well, I have....":rolleyes:

Budget was the guilty party all those years ago. I've waffled between forgiveness, and hatred ever since... I'll give 'em another shot and they'll give me outstanding service for a while.... Then they'll screw up something new 'n different, and we go right back to avoiding 'em. But, they're not much different than any other rental car company. I've been on a rotation with all the major ones for years....

Busted website. Inane phone voice-recognition software. Surly customer service.

Only to find out they don't have a car available at the location I need it. I spent 30 minutes for nothing. :mad:

I'm not aware of that, though a Calabrese grandson was implicated in the ongoing corruption investigation in Cuyahoga County (so says the Daily Hublet). I hadn't realized just how many judges named "Celebrezze" there were/are in Cuyahoga County.

Since I never voted in Cuyahoga County (except by absentee ballot), I have only vague memories of all of this (and of course the patriarch Anthony Celebrezze was well before my time).

I need to start the redrafting of my statement.

ooops! Sorry! Of course, I knew you were there! By the way, Mr.Brit and I weaseled our way into the ACELA lounge at Penn. I didn't have my Prez Club membership card with me, but did have my PP MC. Initially he wasnt going to let us in because he needed the membership number from the Prez Club card. So I said I'd call home and ask my daughter to rummage in my wallet to find the number. He relented and let us in! Our train was 30 mins after yours, so it was worth waiting in there rather than on the cold platform.



Ah, well, here's the thing.... he didn't really have much choice, I sorta *told* him I was going with a sweet smile on my face and a giddy glee like an excited 8yr old who just scored the biggest piece of ice cream cake at a birthday party!!! How could he say "no" after that ....:D

Well, I may be shot down in flames for saying this, but I think there are others that are more deserving of all of those categories. :eek:

I really liked Up In The Air, but to be honest, didn't think it was an Oscar worthy film. The Blind Side and Precious I think are much more deserving. Precious was phenomenal; wouldn't be surprised if Monique wins the Oscar for best supporting actress and I'd love to see it get the Best Picture award. Probably won't though; expect Avatar will get that. Colin Firth played an excellent part in The Single Man and I'd love to see him get the Best Actor award (apart from the fact that he is absolutely gorgeous eye candy, he's also a darned fine actor).
