Nice, be sure to hit up Mothers too.

Best. Food. Ever.

ETA: dont bother staying at the Hilton, they are worthless. You are better off at HGI down the street, IMO.

If you have time for a second must-experience breakfast in New Orleans, y'all should check out Magnolia Grill. There's usually a line out the door, but it is well worth the wait. Truly an eating experience. ^

For crawfish outside of the quarter and downtown I'd recommend Frank and Johnny's in uptown. It's a bit of a dive and a good distance from the quarter but it gives you a good feel for New Orleans. It is considered family friendly so it isn't that sort of dive.

This might even be a possiblility to throw it at our new condo but Im not sure I want to volunteer as crawfish is messy business. Said party could take place on the common patio though.

I think this is something that would require a yard as it could draw a lot of boxers. I think we had 30 people for shogun.

I WISH I could volunteer the center quad here on campus. :p

I have been thinking about a same day turn to SEA to go visit the Boeing plant.

Yeah me too, actually. I'm sick of not leaving the airport at SEA when doing MRs.

I have a 7 hr layover (afternoon) in SEA on next weekend's MR. I've never been to the actual city (and only to the airport and an adjoining hotel* once). What's a must-do/see?

* = probably my most dramatic travel experience ever, which I'm sure I've shared at some point - I was 15 and flying to NRT (probably from SFO - honestly can't remember) to meet a group...the flight was diverted to SEA because of an engine failure in-air. Spent about 24 hours on the ground there before we were able to take off again. I wasn't too bothered, but these were the days before cell phones, and apparently both my parents and the people on the ground in Japan were flipping out...

Apparently they don't give minors hotel vouchers anymore. My sister was 17 and flying US 2 years ago and some problems that forced an overnight in PHX arose. Until they figured out how to get her on some late-night bus to PSP, the plan was that everyone else got put up in hotels overnight and she got to sleep at the gate.

LOL. Got my flowers mixed up. The place is called Camellia Grill, on Carrollton. Amazing place.

Thats enough time to do downtown/Pikes market. Ask colpuck if he thinks its enough time to do a Boeing tour.

I think the Hampton Inn in the Quarter is way to go - it's an easy walk down Bourbon to Cafe Du Monde, and it's easy to get to Johnny's.

I forgot the name of the one I was thinking of. Is this the one with the ~$30 breakfast buffet to die for?

No. Camellia Grill is an old-school diner/soda-fountain type establishment out in midtown. Their breakfast is fried-up to order, and it's staffed by a collection of cooks and waiters that are downright awesome. They literally put on a show, and the food is fantastic, as well.
