I floated the North American Star Alliance Hub Tour + Boeing idea in the Star Mega Do planning thread; we'll see if it gets shot down in favor of more expensive and/or exotic ideas as fast as the other ideas have.

I've given up on Mega Do II already because of the dominate talk for a ultra long /expensive trip.

I found a $100 gc to CO that expires today. Outlook reminder poped up with the number. I booked EWR-SEA-EWR on May 8 for $259-$100=$159 out of pocket. Didnt have anything else to use it on

I've only had it once and that was down in NoLa. No I didn't suck the heads but it was fun and good food. Finding the equipment and the correct spice mix would be the issue.

Spice mix wouldn't be difficult at all - you can order it online, and I've even seen it (same brands and such as we used in BTR) in some supermarkets here in NJ!

Equipment = yeah, for the quantity required for a party you'd want a very large pot and an outdoor flame source (with gas tank or something). I love how this one is actually called the "Bayou Classic". :p

Here's to a nice VDB on your inexpensive transcon.

I wonder if the turkey deep friers would work?

I found out the dive place I had crawfish in that's located in uptown is still open.

A buddy I work with is from BTR or LFT and hosted a crawfish boil last year. He has all the equipment and would let me borrow it, if he could attend :D. This might even be a possiblility to throw it at our new condo but Im not sure I want to volunteer as crawfish is messy business. Said party could take place on the common patio though.

I think this is something that would require a yard as it could draw a lot of boxers. I think we had 30 people for shogun.

I guess we could do it in the "yard" of the projects across the street :D

My near-expiring cert is for WN - going to use it for a trip to CHI.

I'm really surprised the bandwagon has jumped to a RTW so quickly. What was the percentage of people who dropped out last year due to time/cost? Can't imagine what a cost of a RTW charter would be when having to pay for the use of a plane and multiple(?) crews.
