I just had the pleasure of driving my partner to the MARTA station so head could take the train to work. Our streets are a pretty solid sheet of ice this morning. I had no issues driving on it but some of our neighbors… well, they need to just stay home. Coming down the hill from our MARTA station back home one of them decided to slam on the brakes as they came over the top of the hill, which resulted in them going onto the sidewalk. I got around them and came on home with no issue. I think I'll stay in today. I'm not as worried about my driving on this mess as I am the other people out there. Atlanta drivers are apparently no better than those in ALCO's Festering Pit when it comes to driving on ice.

I've got no room in my travel schedule until the last weekend of March. Doesn't look like any discounted Europe fares are available that far into the future, yet.

I am happy schools are closed today so I could drive to work in peace. And its snowing at the moment, contributing to the existing "dusting" on the grass.

I was thinking something similar - February is completely booked for me.

Are you required to have your masters in NJ to teach? Since we are moving there next month my wife is applying for a temporary cert (status match ;)) to teach since she already has the NY and TX cert. She does not have her Masters, yet.

Im pretty sure you do not need your Masters to teach in NJ

I remember when we had an ice storm and it stayed below freezing for two days when I lived in Atlanta. The streets were a zoo.

Fountain at apartment complex had a very sizeable crusting of ice, this morning. Stepping out into the Downtown wind-tunnel was reminiscent of my recent stay in Stockholm.

Correct - my sister taught in NJ without a masters.

Don't think I got this posted yesterday, but US Airways has managed to impress me. Yeah, I never thought I'd say that, but they have. After our flight home was canceled last Saturday, they not only rebooked us into A class on the new flight, which meant a first class upgrade and CO posting the miles as a paid F fare, with the RDM and EQM bonuses, but yesterday as I was arriving at LAX they e-mailed me an unsolicited apology for the flight cancellation and asked me to confirm my information so they could send us each an electronic certificate good toward another flight with them. I have no idea how much we'll get, as the actual voucher hasn't arrived yet, but not bad at all for something I didn't even complain about. Honestly, I would have been fine with no compensation, as we were only delayed a couple of hours and they gave us better seating without us asking. Still, they handled the situation quite well — better, in fact, than DL and CO have handled cancellations I've had in recent years.

I am inches away from hopping on the SFO-LIM fare, and just dealing with the  that is trying to get to LPB from anywhere in South America (with conveniently timed flights). That airport has the silliest flight schedules of any I've seen.

We may not thaw much until Monday. Weekend highs are predicted to barely be above freezing, with lows staying in the upper teens/low 20s.

A masters is only required for post-secondary education, and then only in some cases (outside of four year schools). But, it does make you much more employable, raises your income, and allows you to move from teaching into administration if that's your thang.

Well, we haven't gotten into the fuel dump lessons yet. Those are much more complicated and involve many more strange code-words (harlem shuffle??) and it is somewhat harder to make work. But when it does work the benefit can be an additional $100-200 in savings. That can be next week's class. :)

Wow. So much easier than I was trying to make it. :)

THANKS!

Sadly, no. I'm thinking it may already be a dumped fare since it's a mix of BD and UA. There was a loophole that would dump BD/UA itins, I just don't know if it was fixed.

The $650ish price shows a $330 BD YQ on the ITA breakdown; it isn't dumped yet.

Where are you seeing the $615?
