Interesting potential on this one. Should be a very COol trial period.

the month wrapped around the holidays is awful for occupancy rates.

Makes sense -- not too many people traveling in January, I suppose. I noticed this, more or less, when thinking about whether we wanted my parents to watch the kids NYE or over the weekend and looking into hotel rates, which are pretty reasonable for the 1st and 2nd.

I'm just trying to clear out my fridge before I fly out on Friday afternoon. Especially since I have dinner plans for tomorrow night.

With Miss Lynn Guine ?

It's a good day - I have Woodford and beer on my desk while eating dinner.

Dinner tonight was meat and caipirinhas @ TX de BR. ^

That would be very COol...I've enjoyed using it on flights in the past.

My dinner on Friday will be my first time going to Interstate BBQ in MEM. I'm looking forward to it.

I've mentioned that I'm an Interstate (over Corky's) fan.

I've been meaning to go to a TX de BR sometime...they always look so good in the inflight magazine ads.

That's been the general consensus that I've heard from frequent MEM-phites.

1st and 2nd rates absolutely crater in a lot of cities. That's when I'm getting two nights ("four stays"), two diamond amenities, two G bonuses, two suites, and a Hyatt FFN for a total of $110.

My local outpost of Corky's used to be good; I was a regular for lunch there since it was in my hotel. It went downhill very fast end of 2007, early 2008.

I like it but have had much better service at some clones, most notable in Richmond, VA at the Ipanema Grill, foods and service were top notch. Note that it is NOT a cheaper clone, nor more expensive, both costly.

My wife lived in MEM for a couple of years back before we got married. I'll +1 the vote for Interstate over Corky's, although ribs at Rendezvous are still my favorite.

OMG - I might stay in CMH on Saturday. Appears to be closest to halfway between my location and ACY with Hyatts.

Might have to start the year mattress running then...especially if I don't travel...there are some decent room rates up here in MSP at that time.

I don't know that mersk862 was leaving MEM (the airport).
