Not to mention, the Sheraton didn't have a lounge when I was last there but the Westin has an amazing lounge.

Do you have to set up the shuttle in advance?
I emailed the hotel yesterday and asked about shuttle service but I have not received an answer. I guess I will bring my voip phone to work and try calling tonight when I work my gawd awful midnight shift.

I would have liked to stay at the Westin, but the Sheraton Miyako was more than half the price. I locked them in at 10.5K JPY a night a few months ago ^

Anyone know if U.S.-SCL-AKL all on LA is a valid routing with BA miles? At 160K, that might be worth shooting for, just for the SCL-AKL line.

Is DL that desperate to not lose high level frequent fliers? What an odd thing to send out.

I thought it was as well. Especially for a plat that status matched to NWA this year. Either way I will take a nice bowl for now. may fly them sometime.

CO specials email STILL all screwed up:
Monday, March 2, 2009

Scott6067 Nov 10, 2009 4:57 pm

Opened the mail today and Avis sent me a letter saying I was no longer a President's Circle member as I no longer have the CO PC Card. I still have said card and my Avis Presidents Circle says expires 3/11. It seems like Avis has made a mistake.

From NRT airport to Sheraton Miyako is not a shuttle, it is called "Airport Limousine" bus. (3000 JPY)
You don't need reservation for the ride from airport to Hotel - you can walk-in at the ticket counter.
Return trip (from Hotel to Airport), you need to make a reservation at the hotel service at least a day before departure.
Here is the information and the time table.

Also, Sheraton Miyako has free mini-shuttle bus service every 15 min from 8am to 10pm between Hotel and Meguto station, near-by JR station.
(and to Shinagawa-station in AM only)

So if you ask Hotel about "Shuttle bus", they may think about latter one.

they are trying to cut out the president's club fraud, seems Chase sent them some wrong info on verifying, I tinhk they are asking chase 'is this user authorized to be avis president's club' chase says yes or no...

We are staying at the Sheraton Miyako Hotel. I think it is a little ways outside of Tokyo, but I will look into the hotel bus.

The hotel bus is run by a company with a desk outside of customs. They have a number of routes that cover most of the hotels, typically with a couple stops. Plus, many of them have WiFi, which is nice on the long ride from Narita.

Number one suggestion? The tuna auction at the fish market. You need to get up at the butt crack of dawn but it is well worth it. Have a look at some of my pictures or sbm12's for a tease.

The shuttle isn't a hotel run thing, it's a coach bus. You can buy tickets at the airport once you come out of the customs.

I end up doing cash+points for the Westin. For me, the free internet in the lounge, location and food made up for the difference.
