I found it quite interesting.

You should also enjoy the one about the Israel raid on Iran's nuclear reactor facility.

Raid on the Sun? Already read it and loved it. I took you up on another of your picks and bought Master of Disguise as well.

Fiancee just sent me on an unarmed wild goosechase around her parents' house because she "heard something". I search the house and thankfully come up with nothing. I come back to her bedroom to discover her on the phone with her parents, who as it turned out were intruders in their own home...the noise they made upon stopping back in and leaving again was what she heard. Suffice it to say that I came back upstairs and started researching Remington 870 home defense conversions. If she is going to be living by herself and I'm not there full-time, she will have heat in that house whether she wants to or not.

Yep, that's the one. Master of Disguise is like reading about the special effects of Mission Impossible. It's a good read.

I called the same Roto-Rooter company and my house call tomorrow is under warranty. :D

I'm not so sure about a conversion and might look at a Mossberg tactical arm. Is the new place somewhere personal protection rounds are legal? S&W Sigmas were advertised in TN at $250 after the current rebate.

Jug of liquid drain-o first? Probably a worthwhile $10 just in case it actually works??

ETA: never mind...warranty is better. :-:

Always good to have "support" at your side and know how to use it.

I once heard stomping noises at the top of my house and went out fully armed with HK carbine and Sig semi-auto. Spotted nothing. About a year later when the house was for sale and we were doing an inspection we found a dead raccoon in the attic. Seemed the animal climbed in through a small opening was walking around and then couldn't get back out.

Even I find this a little excessive. :D I tend to explore potentially bad sounds with a Sigma and Maglite. Of course, the Sigma is either 13+1 (for the 40) or 16+1 (for the 9).

Many of the weather geeks over on wunderground seem to think that El Nino will result in many of this winter's storms forming over the Northern Gulf of Mexico, which is anomalous from what normal winters bring. Such storms are often an essential component to creating superstorm noreasters, like the 1993 Storm of The Century. Could be an interesting winter. :-:

Teh weathergeeks also say that sfobag may be in for some  in about a week's time. Apparently, the remnants of Supertyphoon Nida (one of the strongest ever recorded) are expected to have a big impact on the jetstream over the Pacific, resulting in a really ugly Pacific-Coast storm in a week or so.

I'm on vacation for the next 26 days. :D

I'm sure I will have more days of nasty weather and delayed bags in January to make up for whatever I will be missing.

I don't mind missing bags, it's the bags that get advanced that drive me crazy. Those take up alot of work time because I have to scan them, look up the customer's record, and then replace the bags onto the carousel at the correct time. Each and every bag that is left over weights atleast 50 pounds. Every since we started charging to check in bags people make sure that they are getting their monies worth.

I normally address bad sounds at night by kicking the Mister out of bed. :D

Works like a charm. :p

If Copa were there, this would be an acceptable option.

Mossberg and Benelli both make great tactical 12-gauges, yes. Remington was the first name that came to mind. And I did hear that NJ dropped its ban on civilian ownership on personal protection rounds. But, for reasons that do not need to be aired out in this thread, a Smith and Wesson product could be offered to me free and I'd elect to take my chances with a cast-iron skillet.

I understand that it's a love-them-or-hate-them relationship. And we've discussed my bad habit with the square trigger guard of the Glock that makes me pull shots a few inches lower than intended.

Please no mega noreasters this winter. On the bright side that should be an indicator that I should be getting a job soon.

Enjoy your vacation. Now what you said about the early bags makes me wonder about the one time I came back from MCO and my bag was already on the carousel when I got to it and my bosses and his wife got theirs about 20 minutes later. Here I thought EWR bag crews were being really good about getting the elite bags out fast when the bag likely went on flight before mine that was also delayed.
