how many do you have, maybe I can "borrow" one for the return if it does not clear on the outbound for you

In SNA M - F next week. Need to be in RSW the following Sunday morning.

Do I fly from SNA to FLL and spend Sat. in FLL then drive to RSW. Or do I go back to EWR, reacquaint myself with the house I pay a hefty mortgage on (Canuck will be in Canuckistan so that's a non factor) for about 24 hours and change over the suitcase then fly to RSW Sat. night?

If I go to FLL I'll :-:wood hop and pick-up another free Asia night for the honeymoon, but I'll miss out on some solid Mileathon points.

If you don't need to go home then don't. You could always fly SNA-IAH-RSW, i've done that trip a few times.

Questions - what's the difference in out-of-pocket costs for the two itineraries and how much can you get done at home in one day?

Out of pocket is only my hotel on Friday night and food on Sat.

Actually sleeping soundly in my own bed is worth its weight in  to me.

As far as what I'd get done? Probably nothing. But I've probably spent 72 hours at home this month. I'm sure there's a 52 watt @:-) or two that needs to be replaced.

Am I missing something? Why not just go straight to RSW? Friends or relatives in FLL?

Relatives (which I'm not really anxious to see). I spend a lot of time in the FLL/MIA area and like it far better (for a weekend) than RSW. I could also fly into TPA on Friday instead of FLL.

Maybe he want to visit Scarletts or Tootsies, both 3 Star Michelin Rated establishments :D

Well, there's your answer, no?

I got a new book in the office today - was related to my old job but it's going to be incorporated in my class that starts Saturday.

It's pure cultural / multinational gold, written by a "traditional" academic, and designed for individuals who are coming to the U.S. for college. Among some useful nuggets:

* Women are allowed to have leadership roles in the U.S.
* Discrimination is unacceptable
* Coercion and threats are illegal

Wouldn't flying to TPA increase the possibilities? @:-)

Yeah. That's the other option. And just relax in RSW.

Hah.

The other variable is Saturday night is Halloween and with Canuck being a teacher in the district we live in, if no one is home we're sure to get egged. Well, I'm sure we'll get egged even if we're home, but at least the clean-up will be easier if we can attend to it within 72 hours of it happening.

Why so many are you planning on trading any ?

icurhere2 Oct 21, 2009 9:58 pm

Suite upgrade - FAIL. However, I get 2,500 more Hyatt points and a free non-continental breakfast.

fozz Oct 21, 2009 9:58 pm

evenin' box

It's been a crazy week and it's only half over. :(

The box's media blitz continues. I was interviewed at EWR for CBS News. They were doing a segment on CO's entry into Star and Mileage whoring in general. It should be interesting to see how much of it makes it into the news.

Is it?

I'm weighing points/free night for honeymoon + nice weather vs. swapping a suitcase over and sleeping in my bed (which is a :-: bed).

I requested two. Then my upgrade for my flight on Monday didn't clear and the SWU is expiring on 10/31.

I'm hoping Lufty will live up to it's reputation of accepting expired ones since it will just be three days past...
