As much fun as many of you may be having running raids into the UA Forum, let's not turn The Box into a haven for denigrating other fora, posters, or moderation activities. Such actions really aren't in keeping with fostering any sense of community, are actually hostile to such, and do not square with FT TOS. There are approved methods for taking issue with other posters, threads, or moderator activity. Using a thread such as Teh Box to air grievances is not one of them.

The Box, deservedly or not, can create the impression of clique-forming and exclusion of others, which is decidedly NOT why it was created. It was created as both a venting mechanism for OT (still bounded by FT TOS), and for the purposes of community building. Let's try not to lend credence to any negative perceptions of The Box. It shouldn't serve as a base of operations for coordinated attacks on other fora.

All of us were new to The Box at one point, and we turned it into a thriving community by dealing with each other civilly and by being a welcoming bunch.

Well he in lies the problem. The people that set up most conferences and the hotels they work with give confention spaced based on room nights booked. If the group doesnt book enough roomnights through the proper channels then the hotel may go back and charge the conference or group for the room space used. This can be problematic for groups on a budget and I think it got a few in trouble when having events in LAS at times.
