Do you think these are reasonable trades for 160k AA miles? Hopefully I wake up to a full inbox. Good night box.


I have 2 separate tickets on hold at 80k AA miles each until 10/19 and need your help. I would prefer the 160k AA comes from one person or persons with access to family accounts or we could try to entertain offers for each 80k AA miles.

If you can get me the entire 160k AA I can offer one of the following:

1. 165,000 CO (from Plat or Gold) and *
2. 150,000 CO (from Plat or Gold) and 21k UA Miles and *
3. 145,000 CO (from Plat or Gold) and 10k SPG (to your account if you can walk me through the steps on how to do it free) and *

All offers will also get 2 One Day P-Club passes (exp 12/31/09) and a couple drink chits.

It's a tough call, because at some of the higher levels, there's not a huge difference in the number of points it takes for a top-tier Starwood hotel versus a top-tier Hilton hotel — but Hilton points generally accrue much faster (10 base points per dollar versus 2 base points per dollar). In general, a free night at most Starwood hotels probably runs 60-75% of the cost of a free night at a similar Hilton hotel. However, there's such a big difference in the accrual that it makes it hard for me to easily place a conversion value on it.

I think they are reasonable - my one question reading was why state Plat or Gold (although I know the answer). Some might be hesitant if they think that two different accounts are being managed.

Note that Hilton to SPG is the one of the three bullet points where I didn't present a WAG ;)
