Another inquiry from a search committee asking if I want to be considered for a presidency. Um ... no thanks.

FWIW, I've had exactly one flight on CO ever (and it was on COEX even). Not that it was a bad experience or anything, but I'm ORD-based, and UA is my company's preferred carrier. Heck, I even took my first flight on the dAArkside in 7 years this week.

Not all of us UA flyers are self-entitled :rolleyes:s. Some of us are good little PWPers. ^

I don't have too much issue with the new upgrade policy. I'm usually either flying hub-hub, or on regional jets, so as a 1P or 2P for the last 6 years, I'm used to rarely getting choice upgrades. I was shocked to have an ORD-LAX clear earlier this year. ps service doesn't ever apply to me because I never fly transcon.

The upside for me is that assuming DEQMs post in a timely fashion, I'll be 1K soon.

My double EQMs have been posting two or three days after the regular miles post since the promotion started. I'll be 1P after next week's flights post, and 1K just over a month later.

I'm staying out of the mess over there. This is the best thread on FT these days for avoiding the nonsense.

Yep. More upgrades for me when I fly them.

I've avoided that thread but it's definitely a good line.

Thanks, fellas. Anything I can do to take them down the pegs that they so deserve to be taken down.

[Emphasis mine]

But this could be your ticket to a Nobel Prize in Economics! ;)

No - I just want to be nominated for what I'm going to do in the field :p

Seems to be a logical solution, if you are travelling for leisure. But if you are travelling for business and need separate PNR, then it probably is no help.

Also, it eliminates the possibility of the Gate Date. :o

The only time I've got a companion on the plane it is leisure. I never travel for work with coworkers, so the companion upgrade doesn't really matter to me for that. I've actually never been able to clear a companion upgrade on CO.

That story resurfaces on FT a couple of times a year in various forms, related to various airlines. The first time I read a post about "electronic device sensors" it was on the AS forum in about 2004 or 2005. It makes me wonder how true the stories are. If they are happening, it's just evidence of what we already know — that every airline has its bad apples when it comes to customer-facing employees. But then, every company has those, regardless of the industry.

No wonder they seemed so eager to give out a 25,000 point bonus.

Made it to "The Gate" already. The first major one was the reason I left Hilton, and I have over 100,000 points at the moment. The 2010 point chart (Hilton provides a link) isn't coming up for me.

The current award charts have been there since 2004. I don't think this is much worse than other adjustments that have happened within similar programs in recent years.

62,500 total on the most recent credit card offer.
