What equipment was that thing on? It looks rather narrow — 767?

Negative. A310, IIRC.

Nope - I think they had a 1K range around MKE. :D

Midwest was actually quite nice back in the day (if, indeed we are discussing Midwest Express.. que up the idiot bells if we are not. ). All leather F type seats and cookies for all. Unfortunately I stopped flying them a while ago and the airline has gone downhill (so I've heard) since that time.

Editing - I didn't know too much about travel at the time so in general, cookies made me happy. :p

YX was great back in the day. I flew them a few times last year, only on the 717s, and even then, while a shadow of their former self, the service was outstanding and the seats were quite comfortable. I never flew their Saver service, only Signature, which meant a domestic F type seat, with around 34-35" pitch on the 717s (back when they were still all Signature seats on that aircraft type). The legroom was nothing to write home about, although in the days of their DC-9 fleet, it was great. However, I managed to get the exit row about 75% of my flights on YX, which meant great pitch. The crews were always great, buy on board food was the best in the industry, and on par with CO's domestic F catering, and it's hard to complain about being served two warm chocolate chip cookies with your beverage as a complimentary snack.

Granted, flying 717s with around 80 seats, charging the same prices as everyone else, hubbing out of only MKE and MCI (mostly MKE), and only flying to a handful of cities, does not a profitable airline make in this day and age. The average load factor of around 50-60% I experienced doesn't help much either. But I'm quite glad I flew YX a few times last year, and always greatly enjoyed my flights on them.

I found the aircraft that belynch uses to go to FRA on his work trips:

What time's that flight leaving?????

Yes, the lead pipe is replaced, and the flight departs BNA at 0920 for ATL, arriving ATL at 1126, which leaves approximately 4 hours to torment bartenders on my tour of SkyClubs before AUA.

I totally agree. I was that guy that was picking out the strawberries and pineapple.

The pineapple is off the hook. Then again, you don't want to see the quantity of canned and dried pineapple in my pantry.

You are better than me and it looks like ATL has been good to you.

The majority of my ATL routes were actually flown before I moved here — often years before I moved here. The only ones I acquired after moving are ATL-BTR, ATL-PHL, CLT-ATL, BNA-ATL (only because of a diversion), ATL-LAX, FCA-ATL, ATL-MEM, and ATL-MIA. IAH, HOU, AUS, MSY, SLC, MKE, PIT, MCO, BHM, ORD, MSP, DTW, HSV, RDU, EWR, BOS, and IAD all date back to my days of living in Texas.

Or a connection - no one can afford to buy that segment alone at more than $1 per mile (BNA-MEM is the same). Aside from that , we get decent fares and have I mentioned that BNA is a great mid-sized airport?

There's actually four NW lounges there. Three in A, and one in B.

Awesome. I loved the bunny ears on the chest-burster from Alien.

Unless something has changed since my last trip through DTW in May, all of the lounges there have self service bars, as did most pre-merger NW lounges.
