The Dave Matthews song with that line in it got played at a wedding I was at. It was the first wedding my fiancee and I had attended as a couple. When I heard the opening notes of the song, I said "Wow, this is inappropriate" to the rest of the table. Only the guys laughed.

I used to smoke too, and my car and apartment never had any smell of it, nor did my clothes. I didn't smoke in the car, and I didn't smoke inside. Problem solved. But my smoking habit was just a few a day, if even that.

My wife attended a wedding when Garth Brooks first released Thunder Rolls and it was wildly popular. It was played at the wedding of a friend of hers. For those of you playing the home game, Thunder Rolls is about a man who cheats on his wife and she winds up killing him for it. Great wedding fodder. :D

In honor of tonight's episode of Top Chef, dinner at our place tonight was a Top Chef recipe from a previous season:
  • Peach barbecue sauce glazed grilled salmon filets
  • Crab and avocado salad
  • Green beans almondine (this was not from Top Chef
  • An outstanding Chilean white wine
  • Red velvet cake we made last Sunday (again, not from Top Chef

It was incredibly good, which is a good thing, considering the sauce for the fish took just under 4.5 hours from start to finish . The salad could have been better had the avocados we bought at the farmer's market actually been fully ripe (they were a bit crunchy).

And the wine was just what I needed after all of the :mad::eek::td: I had to put up with today at work.

The other half of the equation has suggested that we do a Halloween as Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood. If I lost weight and grew a goatee, I could probably pull off Garth with the right hat and jeans and a belt buckle that birds could bathe in. She could definitely pull off Trisha, as she does bear a resemblance.

Decisions, decisions. UA matches AA's double EQM promo. I could conceivably achieve 1K now this year -- I'll get Premier Executive regardless, just with the trips I was going to fly on UA anyway. If I toss UA a few more of my CO trips this fall, I could jump up to 1K. I wrapped up CO Platinum back in mid-July. Should I switch to UA now? Or, if CO matches the double EQM promo, should I stick with CO and get that much closer to lifetime elite status?

I would say it depends if you plan on making any ex-US trips next year on UA or LH, because as I understand it the primary benefit of 1K vs. 1P is the SWUs.

You're looking too early. My experience with CO is if you try to price many of their flights 4-6+ months out, you'll only see really high fares. Start looking 60-90 days out and you'll see much, much lower fares.
