I put him in the DB category as soon as I read that ... "I'm a quasi-celebrity and will use that minimal standing to air my grievance". Next thing we know, his child's Happy Meal isn't assembled correctly.

My new rule for now is that i'm not paying more than $600 for a coach ticket anywhere, at least for personal travel. I suspect we'll be seeing a nice set of deals on the horizon with the way the earnings announcements and future bookings are looking.

Do you actually want to stop in MUC, CPT and DXB? If not then you're looking at a US-Africa reward with a stopover. If you do want all three stops then I do not believe that it can be done reasonably with CO's program. You've got three one-way rewards there if you want all three stops since they are all different series (US-EU, EU-Africa, Mid-East-US).

So, based on an article I read yesterday, US may go before UA. It seems like US has already leveraged all of their assets while UA still has a fair amount left.

I don't know - my ex-girlfriend was absolutely transfixed when those stupid UPS commercials came on. She would even stop talking ...

NRT and the SFO pacific network by far are the largest. Some speculated that DL's primary reasoning for wanting NW was for the trans-pac network that DL was having a problem building on it's own. Interestingly enough, at the dinner with Capt Flanagan he passed out books about the History of United. In it is a route map circa 2001 which showed how great of an international network they used to have. Kinda sad to see all those lines gone. |

I had a UA NYC-HKG fare pretty close, but alas it wasn't SWU'able so I passed on it.

I read that as well, though I honestly think UA is in a slightly better position as it has assets that can a) be sold and b) desired. Seriously, what does US have?

PHX hub but that may only be of value to WN since it allows for a really easy expansion in PHX if that's in their cards.
IMHO, CLT is the only real asset with the large number of banks down there. But it is still pretty close to both ATL and IAD. |

Nothing in particular. Was looking at doing IAH-MUC//LHR-JNB-CPT-DXB-IAH and was having trouble figuring out which category (or categories) that fell under. I would have to book it as separate rewards (IAH-MUC) and then LHR-JNB-CPT and DXB-IAH.
