Depart before 11:00am CT and Return after 4:00 pm CT: Saturday (August 29, 2009)

Select EWR (PHL is also available) and same day turn. $67 each way + taxes. I'm going to talk to my +1 about doing it this weekend.

ORD for the day from PHL at 67+ each way might be the way that I will end up sampling UA. ^^

ETA: Unlike CO specials, UA advertises for the following week too? Hmmmm. Juicy.

My few UA flights have all been great; hopefully yours will too.

This is by no means a trip focused on earning miles.

The FT heresy abounds in this thread lately.

How about this:

Instead of paying $200+ a night for hotel in AUA, I decided earlier this year to buy a timeshare company's point sampler pack for just over $900 specifically with AUA in mind (and to also abuse). Not only did I get the trip to AUA, I got 1-bedroom locations or larger for a total of 17 days out of the deal (20 counting the three days they gave me in a suite to listen to them), including the lead-up to Christmas.

WN has Early-bird check-in now, $10 OW gets auto check-in at T-24.

So will CO match?

Yes, but...

You are completely right in terms of how CO should handle things. And I believe that you should have been listed as a displaced customer once inside the 24 hour window and therefore ahead of any EUAs, but that is something that the CO systems do not do automatically and something that their people are not used to and something that they do badly. Sadly, anything that is not rote or "blame the customer" (aren't those the same @ CO??) the CSRs have trouble with.

You got screwed and 2K miles was a joke of an offer to make up for it. I also wouldn't expect all your miles back or even half - you did sit up front on the BF segment after all - but something closer to 10K is probably a more reasonable comp, IMO.

I just called teh CO reward desk to make a change for the third time the dates on my HKG flights. I had NW/DL JFK-NRT-HKG and HKG-EWR on CO using Plan B for 120K miles. I changed to KE NRT-ICN-HKG and CO HKG-EWR Plan B again. I was under the assumption that a redeposit would be needed for this type of change.

The first reservation I had was NW/DL JFK-NRT-HKG and KE HKG-ICN-IAD-EWR and the agent made a big production out of it that I needed to cancel the and redeposit the miles as that was the only way to make a change when combining KE/NW/CO rewards.

Avis AWD A113400. No miles earned but it is cheap, no one-way fees and you get charged pump prices for gas so no need to fill it up on the way back to the airport. I'm a fan.

Very windy here in Anilao this morning. Going to be a rough day out on the dive boat. Off to hunt more cute critters like this one:
