Well we were getting in on a NWA WC membership so the rules may have been different for them I think??

I heard on the radio today or the news maybe that they are cutting another 900 FAs. They are not doing well.

chorizo burrito :D

To the AA promo, wow. I've often kicked around using them as my back-up carrier and am now really, seriously, considering it. I have Plat on CO more or less locked-up (assuming I don't drop dead) for next year and could conceivably hit Plat on AAnother airline. ExPlus if I do some really creative routings and/or finally give-in after all of these years and do a MR or two.

Just when I think I'm out...

AA has some easy MR routings...

I hope (SkyTeam partner) doesn't match either.

I like triple RDMs already.

You really think someone would pass up the opportunity?

Is not possible.

I have never flown AA, but my wife took them a few times to the islands and Florida. Apparently she hates them and swore off them. I don't know exactly why, but the anger is still there. Contrast with KLM who lost our bag for a day (while we were in Africa no less), yet she's not angry at them. So it goes. :-:

I was thinking the same thing about AA. Not really wanting to do it though. If it was more clear of the CO and UA's alignment (e.g. CO plats get E+ access) then I would be more inclined to achieve something on AA.

Afternoon Box!

I am still adjusting to this job. When I used to go to client sites I was seen as an expert or at least someone who knew more about the subject than the client. Here, I'm seen as just a kid who apparently doesn't have anything useful to add to the discussion because I don't have a PhD.

It looks like I'll be flying AA a bit more because of the double EQMs. Maybe I'll do IAH-BOS on them or something.

I hope you enjoy Y, or at least paying for stickers to sit in F. With our location you will likely connect through DFW and thats 3-stickers. You only earn 4 stickers for every 10k BIS miles. Oh, and those trips to MIA, yeah another 3 stickers even though they come in a slighly more than 1,050 miles.

IMO, if you are only going to be a mid-tier I would stick with an airline that gives comp upgrades with out using stickers. EXP is another story and totally worth it but you would either have to dedicate all your flying to them or fly like fozz. :D

Remember, NYC area residents get DRDM's through the end of the year too. If you need an address PM me.

Sureeeeee... where were you when SEA-NRT happened?!?! :)

I would like to jump on the NW DTW-KIX flight before it goes away as I suspect it may not be long for this world.

My schedule going forward looks, uhm, dizzying. Oh, and I'll be booking on refundable fares. :-:

I'm turning into a golden goose.

Regarding how cozy the CO relationship with UA will be being defined is definitely key. I will undoubtedly be flying them often and really want/need access to E+ without having to resort to wearing nice sweaters.

gbryan good point regarding AA and their stickers.

I'll donate a NY area address as well if needed. I don't think you'd ever catch me flying AA.

I don't fly *that* much.

But, AA does have a decent operation out of LGA and JFK and it's not a bad backup plan in the NYC area. You can also get away flying through ORD a lot as well, and for belynch's frequent ABQ runs, DFW and IAH arne't much different.
