Apparently some people I work with don't seem to see a problem with a client saying they can't work with us at all for nearly the entire month that I'm scheduled to bring their new HR/payroll system live, and they're supposed to start using it. It took me raising some Hell in order to get the project manager and account manager to start to understand the problem, although neither one of them has a lot of backbone and seems willing to discuss this problem with the client.

Here is the e-mail shown as a web page.

Ok, now a question. Many of you highlight words that when clicked on take you to a webpage or another post, etc. How do you do that? For instance, if I wanted to use the above link but say "guys look at this" and make it into a link, how do I do it?[/QUOTE]

Reading that makes me wonder how much Dean aka Cigarman had to do with that new benefit???

I started to post this and thought I did, but i can't find it.

So those who were interested, we finally have some stuff locked down for the San Diego Film Festival. Details are on their website. If you use the promo code 'UPGRD' the Festival pass gets discounted to $79.

The W is one of the official hotels and it's the last weekend to cash in the free nights.

I'll be there from Wed night until Monday sometime. The podcast crew is doing a live podcast on Saturday as well.

I may actually be able to make it! ^

Vince Flynn rocks. So does Mitch Rapp, for that matter...

$hit like that will never fail to get me in trouble.

Can I take a 32-bit Vista laptop to 2GB to 3GB memory without issue? I know 32-bit won't address more than 3GB, but I can't remember if an odd number of memory is OK.

Seems like it would be OK. I know XP was fine with 3GB of memory in my old desktop.

The bigger question would be, does your motherboard support that particular memory configuration?

Talk to your friends in the government. If you think that coding is a nightmare, just try and imagine how the initial codes are developed.

I'll have to call Toshiba and find out. Since I took possession of this laptop, I might as well research ways to improve it. The video company bought it new, so there's no reason I shouldn't get maximum mileage out of it.

What model is it? The Toshiba site will tell you what it will take. But, if it is new, it will almost certainly take 3GB or 4GB of RAM, provided you have two SODIMM slots in your unit. XP 32-bit will support up to 4GB.

I've come to the conclusion that the reward upgrades for TATL flights are somewhat of a rip-off. 40,000 miles + $500 fee each way is not what I call a good use of miles, especially when I could just burn the miles outright with no "fee".

Toshiba Satellite L305. It shipped with 2GB, but I haven't yet looked at config of such. My guess is 2x1GB. OS is 32-bit Vista.

My minor oops for the day. I tweeted when I meant to FB

Perhaps you need to see a doctor about that.

My dad fell off a ladder last night. Rather than going to the ER (as he should have), he's going to Dr. today. Fortunately, he did not hit his head and only his back and side :( Here's hoping he's okay. And hopefully this is not a look at what healthcare could look like; but the last time, my mom made his appt and it was written on there WIFE THOUGHT HE NEEDED TO SEE DR. Medicare denied the claim.:rolleyes: Obviously dad made the appt. today. I told mom she needed to write the Dr. and his office should reimburse her due to their idiocy!

Work has been completely  today. For lunch I'm going to go get a pedicure at the place that serves champagne. Hoping for a brighter afternoon.

You had nail clippings for lunch.... if you need some $$ let me know. :)

I finally got someone to look at it and the code was very incorrect: they had me in for a pregnancy test.. Once it got coded properly I was covered.

That is about the same isnt it!
