I wonder if Vick can help Philadelphia - off the field. Why? I covered my share of dog fighting stories while there. Plenty in the 'hood. Will he be going through the rough parts of town trying to get people to stop? What is his role going to be? Lurie just stated Vick needs to be pro-active off the field w/r/t positive messages. Philly desperately needs help in stopping the dog fighting rings.

I think that would be great and I hope he makes a personal investment in the Philly area. However, I am thinking that the reality will be some united way spots and a  Donovan McNabb and a  rest of the team with a healthy dose of  for most everyone else. I hope I'm wrong, though.

I didn't say it was too hard, just not worth the effort. You've had to deal with the annoyances of held shipments. I don't recall if you've had banks refuse you yet or not, but I have. I suppose it is easier since you have a car and I actually walk mine to the branches to deposit them. Steve Gadfly has to deal with a missed delivery and an outstanding balance on his CC that won't be resolved until the Mint processes the return. There are many potential pitfalls out there.
Still, I don't really think that the effort involved justifies the effort except for a few very devoted folks. I also don't charge my lunch every day even though most of the places take CCs. And I priceline my hotel stays to save money rather than collect points. I guess I'm just not that into the points thing. ;) |

If I'm projecting Word documents onto a screen, is the font size more or less relevant than the zoom factor of the document?

rule of thumb is type size should be no less than 18pt if projecting (and you want it to be legible).

Correct, but in Word one can zoom the view to increase the display size on the screen while not actually changing the printed size on paper. If you need the document to fit on a piece of paper then do whatever that takes and just zoom the view for projection. Or have two copies, one for handout and something else for on-screen.

Neither did I. Especially Philly. The management must be oblivious to the collecive personality of the fan base.

Driving from Philadelphia to Rockville, MD to spend a few days w/ family there. PHL was never affected by the blackout directly, I believe.

I actually had to go to walmart the other day to get something :(
my observation is: 20-40% look to be meth addicts 20-30% look to be young mothers with a couple kids (probably the best demographic I saw) and 20-30% look to be teens trying to get out of the heat for the day

I'm projecting the answers to the trivia categories so we don't have to give out paper copies to the participants or have an MC that has to repeat them when people moan and groan over what they got wrong. The only paper copies of the answers will be on the judging table. Projection looks are more important than printed page looks in this case.

Two copies. One in Word to hand out and then something fun to project.

Why don't you use PowerPoint then? Also 24 pt is the usual minimum size to use so that people actually pay attention to it.

Of those demographics - we don't have the first in Wal-Mart. That demographic shops at the Super K-Mart, Family Dollar, and Food Lion. I am not making this up.
So they go to walmart. Family Dollar is around, but they have nothing at all, I don't think anyone goes there, in fact maybe they do go there and the fact that I have NEVER been there makes me uninformed. It is right next to the Kroger, I simply have never seen anyone come or go from the family dollar at all. |
