Interesting; I doubt my email will even be read.

Between ALCO's aeroporn thread and the Box's combined knowledge of air travel, I bet we could put together a website to showcase seat maps from each airline and provide actual pictures of said seat with image contributions from users. It wouldn't really be difficult to make. Hmm...

PHL-SLC for less than $140.

Not only seats but also service, IFE, info on hubs, etc. @:-)

Finally a way to monetize this d@mn thing.

Step 1: Random discussions.
Step 2: ...
Step 3: PROFIT!

Isn't ad revenue the answer for everything?

No, but it would probably pay for hosting and the domain.

I think you're underestimating the revenue potential of a site that appeals to a high socio-economic demographic.

The first step in making money is to not lose money.

I suppose that may be true. A premium content area might be something to think about. But, this would require a lot of information from a lot of folks. I think it would be really interesting to see how many of us would be interested in putting something like that together.

Edit: Maybe as part of MBM3's travel initiative?

No. Become the go-to resource for information about flying, and create a trip reports forum that's a little less nutty than a.nut and I think you'll have a good model.

Make all content free and let ad revenue fund.

I didn't realize it could be so hard to use a CO voucher!

I purchased IAH-PBI as a one-way for $99/each used the voucher to pay for it. With the rest of the cash on it, I bought MIA-IAH for $109/each and paid for the difference with a credit card.

MIA-IAH ticketed just fine (though the receipts need to make it clear how of the voucher was used ).

IAH-PBI is a flipping disaster. It was put on hold and the website is telling me to complete the reservation, but when I try to use the voucher (it is no longer applied) it tells me the voucher has no more value.

Now on the phone with CO.com support and they're about as clueless as anyone.

Hire me CO, I'll make your IT structure sing.

I've got part of the research functionality there. Seat maps are easy; photos are harder unless you have folks contribute. Meals/menus would be useful also, but those change way more frequently.

I'm willing to share profits if some other folks are willing to help with content. @:-)
