I can't do my favorite Carniceria/Taqueria on Saturdays. It's the only day of the week that they make menudo. The stench is unbearable.

Hangover stew ;) You should have stocked up and had some ready for yesterday :p

The smell used to overwhelm me but I'm used to it now.

I like to make hors d'oeuvres w/bacon -- wrapped water chestnuts, dates! So easy to eat!

There's a place on F.M. 1960 near I-45 called El Taquito Mexican Meat Market that has stellar marinated pork tacos. They looked pretty similar to those Campechanos there.

ETA - Pay no mind to the fact that the cooking-surface has probably needed a good scraping/abrading for several years, and that the lady behind the lunch-counter doesn't wear gloves. The food is awesome.

I've had the bacon-infused bourbon but am not so much of a vodka person (gin follows bourbon in my hierarchy).

I recently had prosciutto-wrapped dates at a tapas place. They were AMAZING!

Sounds good to me. I'm glad they don't scrape it, if they did, it wouldn't taste as good.
