I can't really blame the tenant for this current problem. My sister, while holding my father's power of attorney and his bank account, decided that she/he wasn't going to pay the condo fees. My dad and I owned his condo 50/50. I paid my share but my father's went unpaid. Several other dirty family linen things happened and I have now made good on just the payments that my sister/father refused to pay. Of course the lawyers want me to pay interest and their fees and I'm still only a 50% owner.

The condo tenant has not been able to get the access card to the facilities because of all of this.

Anyone want to buy a nice 2 bedroom 1 1/2 bath condo in Boca? Cheap, really cheap.

Sounds like your sister needs a 'visit' more than your tenant.:rolleyes::o

I upgraded my wife and I for FLL for the 4th . Should I bother calling and trying to get us into row 1?

Daughter is old enough to drive, although we are debating her mental age currently. :D

I just might start drinking early. I rarely drink but this has been one weird week.

Somewhere between 16 and 30?:p

BTW....this is ALSO the same reason why appetizers at restaurants are almost always served in odd numbers. It's always great to politely argue over who eats the last one or make a mess by trying to cut it in half!

Indeed. Teh Honda People don't embrace the gallon belief.

Sad to hear that. I suspected something was up earlier this week when everyone on the 6 PM news seem to be forceing themselves through the broadcast and not wanting to be there. They also introduced a new sports guy last night.

Is their music dead yet?

The people who got sick ate the dough raw. (despite the warning label against it).

If you weren't planning on dieting, keep eating the cookies. I hear that Teh E. Coli does wonders for dropping excess weight.

More proof that society needs more warning labels and more regulation. If the labels get ignored, whatcha gonna do about it? Nothing whatsoever. Wish in one hand and take a dump in the other and see which fills up first, regulation happy nutcases.

I would have taken my car out of the dealership and get a 2nd opinion, or even a 3rd opinion when spending that kind of ¥ on your car.

I needed my front "struts" fixing and my wobble arm or waver arm or something or other, I can't remember the name of it, needed fixing too. Plus then the wheels needed realigning and I needed a 75k service.

Bugger!

Mind you, initially, the service guy told me it was going to be $1400, but I said "hang on while I make some calls". I called several local dealerships to compare prices. Managed to get my dealer to undercut the rest, and walked out paying $1066.00 instead of $1400.

Would much rather have spent that money on an MR!!

I assume, your contract with the property management group did not mention the split in who pays the fees. Your agreement should specify what kind of damages there are for failure to pay dues as well as any legal fees. Most jurisdictions do not allow parties to collect legal fees unless there are exceptional circumstances, like it being written into the agreement.

I will have to get a copy of the agreement. This whole messy matter is the fault of my sister refusing to do the right thing in continueing to pay the condo fees with my father's money. She had her own agenda and was angry that I was on the condo deed (due to loaning my father money) so she played hard and fast with his cash before I became the wiser.

My father and I had no written agreement of how the dues were to be split. It was understood by us that although I loaned him some money for the purchases of his condo, the condo was his completely. He paid all the fees prior to his getting ill. I was only on the deed to protect my loan from my sister and I still got the short end of the stick.

SFOgate, if you have really had enough of your sister. You could always take her failure to make the payments to a FL court as a sign that she is an unfit guardian and petition the court to revoke her power of attorney.

This would of course end your relationship with your sister, and you would need to find another guardian.

I loved that stuff as a kid. Maybe that explains the way I turned out. :o:o

If they release any TPAC J availability at saver level, it seems to just be one seat. It is, however, possible to find 2 seats from time to time.

If you want some help searching different options, let me know the relevant details and I'll see what I can do.

Thanks, YHPM

Speak for your Honda. Mine holds just over a gallon. But then again my car is exclusive to the US and Canada.

If you are both on the deed, it sounds like you are joint tenants. Which IIRC that means either one of you are both on the hook for the payments on the whole. There are 4 possible outcomes

1)If you can (I don't think you can) sell your 50%.
2)petition the court to split the property, continue to pay your respective half of the fees, until the condo company puts a lien on the property and forces a courthouse sale, where upon you will be compensated according to FL law for your half.
3)continue paying the fees for the condo
4)Settle what you have going on with deal ol'sis and go forward.

Again NOT A LAWYER (especially in FL)
