I love that stuff right now. I do think I like the finished product better though.

BTW SFOgate this is a good example of colpuck's rules for life #1

Never do business with family.

SFOgate, if you have really had enough of your sister. You could always take her failure to make the payments to a FL court as a sign that she is an unfit guardian and petition the court to revoke her power of attorney.

This would of course end your relationship with your sister, and you would need to find another guardian.

I don't know if my sister ever really had a legal power of attorney. I believe you can do just about anything in FL with a semi official looking piece of paper. One of my biggest mistakes was not monitoring her spending of his money because I was also on that bank account. I made a major error in trusting her to do the right thing but learned otherwise when it was too late.

My mother is still alive and she and my father never divorced so it is a complicated family matter. My mother is aware of what happened but of course she doesn't want to be in the middle of all of this condo mess. FL states that she is now my partner and she has told me that it's basically mine to do as I want with it.

This whole thing has given me nothing but a super headache from day one. As far as my relationship with my sister, she destroyed that about a year ago.

Ditto. Actually, I still do. When my wife makes cookies now she just puts a scoop of the sough in a glass in the fridge for me. :D

Indeed it did! I just looked at the invoice and it was the "sway" arm. Something to do with the steering.

I knew the struts/shocks, or whatever they are called, were probably going or gone. Every time I hit a pothole, it felt like I was being bashed by a cricket bat. Thud! thud! thud! Plus, it did "sway" a bit, so I guess the "sway" arm really had gone all wobbly. When I was driving home, I could definitely tell a big difference in the way it drove.

It is nearly 9 years old, and we have never done a thing to it except have it regularly serviced, so I can't really complain. It's just a bit of a shock going in thinking I was only going to spend $200 +/- and ending up spending $1000+. :(

I always wondered about that, but I'm sure I'd be the .0001% who died from it. And then people could say how great I looked at the viewing.

If your sister doesn't want to deal with the property, draw up a deed that transfers your father's interest to you get dad, mom, and sis to sign it, and record the transfer. Then you could either sell the property or continue to rent it out. There are quite possibly some serious tax issues there, that I honestly know nothing about. You would need to see a tax attorney about that.

or friends.

We are having an awful time with friends we went into business with. The female side of the couple has gone completey wacko, and is causing all sorts of problems.

Can't wait to get rid of her, but until the property market picks up, we're stuck with them (we share an investment property).

My Civic turns 6 on November 1st, and over those six years I have had two repair bills from the dealer and replaced two sets of tires. All of those bills averaged out and I pay less than $500/year in cost of ownership.

I'm certain that we have at least two tax professionals in the Box that would cut you a severe break on their fees in exchange for access to your crystal ball for bumps. :)

We were considering getting a court ordered dissolution of our joint company. Problem is, it will cost us a LOT of money to get rid of our partners, and quite frankly, I am not prepared to give the crazy beeyotch in the partnership one red cent. So, for the time being, we are hanging on and waiting.

Isn't that what Anne Heche said to the first woman that she left the guy for?
