I have a gold band-esque ring that I picked up during my Saudi tour. It has the logo of my old job on the sides in white gold and the letters AMMO carved into the band. Gold prices make me wonder if I should melt it.

without doubt NO. It isn't worth the short time profit

Surprisingly, BlueNile has the most reasonable pricing
BN has been a pleasure to deal with. Very responsive, very hassle-free. I'm sending the ring back this week to get it resized (stupid quarter size ) and the whole thing has been very simple. No out of pocket cost for me other than shipping it back to them. I was very leery of buying something like that online, site unseen, but I felt like I knew more about what I was buying from them than what I was getting at the local stores. The delivered product was as expected, very nice, and they stand behind it. ^ ETA: I have some referral discounts for BN if anyone wants one, just PM me. It'll save you a few dollars (depending on the size of your order), plus it discounts me when I purchase the bans. |

My rationale is that you save on gate fees, which are charged each month, while the hub outlay is just one-time. By running multiple hubs, you get a lot more out of those gate fees over time. Also, from single hub, you'll soon run out of big markets nearby. So, it's either less profits from thinner routes, or have to run longer routes (more expensive planes taking more time) to get to those far away big markets.

I guess there is no motivation to connect your hubs with flights like in the real world, huh? Essentially you can just run two different airlines? As long as one plane is "based" out of the new hub it doesn't matter? Or do I have to connect them?

Has anyone ever been called by CO to offer them a bump certificate over the phone a week before travel ?
I was disturbed over the weekend and my caipirinha was spilled in the process. I demand compenstation on top of the voucher they gave me  |

Hey, CO doesn't fly non-stop GUM to IAH/CLE/EWR either. ;) |
here is something I wrote late last year that I wanted to send to CO and chelsea.....
Domestic FC menu upgrades on a Budget(likely costing no more than the cheeseburger or shrimp platter and being much more filling and better quality) Dirty Rice with chicken and sausage(can be chicken or turkey sausage if you want to keep it beef free) Served with a pepper chicken breast Meal should be served with a wedge of lemon/lime that can be squeezed over the rice/chicken can be served on a single plate for easy of prep and cleanup White Chocolate Bread Pudding Dessert --->Such a dish can be made in quantity for less than $1.50 per serving, I have done it numerous times, in airline quantity and bulk purchase of goods this could be below $0.80 per serving, I typically buy the goods at wal-mart or Sam’s and get it for $1.50 or less! Fajita platter: Mexican rice with vegetables Chicken or Beef marinated Fajita strips(about 8 strips max for 2 fajitas) 2 freshly made foil wrapped tortillas Should be garnished with a small side of sour cream and pico 1 Pecan Praline for dessert --->This can be prepared for less than $2 per plate in total from the above mentioned stores, in volume could be far less, it could also be done fully vegetarian using Portabella Mushrooms for the fajita “meat”, it adds a small amount to the cost but not much. Swiss onion soup and sub Beef broth with Onion and melted swiss put on before serving, can also be done with chicken broth Roast Beef(or turkey if wished) with swiss cheese on a French roll If desired for a more “filling” meal a chowder-like soup could be made with potato and swiss cheese. Desert could be served with a basic pudding with a spoonful of a fruit preserve --->This can be done at varying prices depending on the size of the portions/sandwich and how far you wish to go with the soup, the potato may be cheaper and come in about the cost of the others in the end, otherwise a bit more expensive. Overall I think CO does a great job for a domestic carrier, but I think they could step up their game in regards to food and really please the customers more. |
Just discovered that, despite the Elite Desk rep telling me otherwise, we were booked into coach for MEX-GRU for my X-Mas redemptions. There isn't any J availability on MEX-GRU (or any other -GRU SkyTeam route) for those dates.
I'm now thinking Morocco. Anyone have any experience with Morocco? Casablanca, Marrakech, Rabat, or Fes? |
