what is the trick you do to get your new status to 'show' on an old reservation? I have a flight this week that will bump me up another level and need to make sure I am at least gold for a change at iah-phl EUA :D |

Friends, Comrades, Boxiens:
It is my distinct honor and pleasure to share with you this moment, my post number 20,000 on FlyerTalk. Thanks to the foresight and generosity of our deal leader, Pandy Reterson, multiple successive 5 year plans have been successfully implemented growing our once small and weak nation into a powerful and mighty one. No longer will other lounges be able to push us around or command the respect they once did. No longer will the traveling public be safe from the threat of General  and the emotipillar army. No longer will a bar cart be safe from me. This moment in time has been almost nine years in the making. I look forward to the next 20,000 posts coming faster, with more wit and with more alcohol. Long live the PWP! -sbm12 |

Changes of status once you are already elite are supposed to just work. The problems were with folks who were non-elite at time of booking not having their elite status showing up after initial qualification.

Just reported my first merchant for requiring a minimum charge to use a credit card. I've seen this done other places and usually state the policy of Mastercard/Visa to no avail, but I have had it with this local place.
I went in to buy something and the guy behind the counter just stared at me and the sign that was on the counter. Very glad that Mastercard has a way to report this kind of abuse online. But I also got a new credit card experience last week. I was asked to show an ID when paying with my credit card at a diner in Santa Monica. I don't think that's happened before. |
Congrats sbm12 on your 20,000 achievement. May your next 20,000 be free of  and full of drunk posting.

That too is a violation of the merchant agreement with MC and Visa. MC makes that easy to report. |

Common in many "ethnic" places. Supermarkets, restaurants in Houston Chinatown, for example.

Congratulations sbm12 on your 20,000 post. ^

In other news, Google has successfully taken down half of the internet this morning with their servers having some kind of hiccup.

Requiring ID to make a purchase that does not require ID (alcohol, cigarettes) is also against card companies contracts.

In place of my signature I write "ask for ID" on my card. It's amazing how rarely I'm asking to show my ID. |
Congrats sbm12 on 20k
