Too young to remember...

But my father still curses the network for what they pulled!

Not blaming you here at all, just sometimes as collective or individual one can grow tired of a medium, and just want to go invisible.

Wow... he just decided to cut you off one day? Weird.

This wasn't an on-line thing. Something weird happened and I don't think it was 9-11. Granted he was one of the last out of the building but he openly talked about that. One person ran into him in NYC back in 2003 and he was with his "new friends" (her words) and they were the complete opposite. Now she was someone who cared for him a lot and I suspected would like to have become his Mrs. but she was cut off just like everyone else. She is now married to someone else in the group and has a 6 month old.

Anyone have a recommendation for a good car service in the EWR/Shorthills/Newark area? Need it for family coming in for business soon.

Thx.

Also one of the few that I met without knowing we would be there at the same time. It was in the USAir Club at LGA about three or so years ago when both of us were still US flyers.

We had met previously at the Roachfest in Philadelphia where the USAir execs made a pretense of listening to us and then continued on their path of ruining the airline and setting it up for the HP takeover.

Just reported my first merchant for requiring a minimum charge to use a credit card. I've seen this done other places and usually state the policy of Mastercard/Visa to no avail, but I have had it with this local place.

I went in to buy something and the guy behind the counter just stared at me and the sign that was on the counter. Very glad that Mastercard has a way to report this kind of abuse online.

If they are staying at the Short Hills Hilton they have their own shuttle service.

SBM 12 you are almost at 20K posts

Wow, that is impressive. I wonder what the magic 20K post will be.
Congratulations!

I did not even know that was a violation - I encounter this on a nearly daily basis.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

Although, to be fair to the merchant, I can understand why they wouldn't want to do it.

Yep, definitely a violation of their contract with the credit card company.

The only reason we know he was still around was one of my co-workers was working with him on a project and she loved the speaker phone and I'd hear his voice on the phone.

A buddy of mine did the same thing. A group of us knew each other over 20 years and one day poof. Resurfaced about 2 years later and basically acted as if nothing happened. We all knew there were some problems and left it at that but it hasn't been the same since when we get together.
