Well - it looks like I was proven wrong pretty quickly! The latest reports are that AT&T will require people to activate in the store and all iPhone purchasers are required to active within 30 days of purchase.

I just wanted to make it known to certain individuals that frequent this place that I'm probably not going to get upgraded on ATL-IAH this Friday evening on a 735. And I'm not going to even get a good exit row seat either. In fact I think I'm going to be stuck in a middle seat in Y. But at least it is a bulkhead.

upgrades out of ATL can be hit or miss to Houston. (I've never missed on ewr flights)
