I did figure out the need for car rental; I want to go to the volcano (and promptly begin singing Jimmy Buffett). The specific "resort" (don't know amenities) has condos, smoking is forbidden, and can be hotwired for less than $100 a night (fees inclusive).
KOA itself has some okay places to eat, with some better places up towards Waikaloa. |
