Some of my photos from the dives have a chance to make it into a Canadian dive magazine

This is why Canadians rule. They actually have a magazine for hole in the wall bars.

There is some tinkering with aircraft, but above a certain sweet spot I have found that more is not more, but more usually helps. A 70-seat turboprop might do great numbers because the fuel burn is so low, but a 180-seat jet gives a ton more profit because the fuel is mitigated by the huge number of seats being sold.

I have tried quite hard to eschew the use of "Kettle" as I have always thought it was unnecessarily demeaning and a level of pejorative that I never felt the need to use. But that dude was a Kettle.

I immediately yelled "ERRONEOUS" and asked if it was a seeing-eye dog, and she said no. Her mom apparently talked to the lady who explained that she flies with her dog all the time. She buys a ticket for herself and one for the dog. ( He may or may not be AA Exec PLat )
I still don't know if i believe this is actually allowed, but apparently the gf's mom took pics of this on her iPhono and will be showing them to me.

I need to see these pics. And the use of "ERRONEOUS" has me sitting here snorting as I laugh. That should be another Box inside posting joke, just like "baglady's husband".

Sorry to hear that.

Observations after time on the range:

If I started to train now, I don't think the Senior Tour would be within reach.

Rangefinders come in super-handy when the county course decides that yardage markers must not be that important.

The small piece of skin missing from my right hand will hopefully grow back in time for my 1:40 tomorrow.

That's great. Bring home a loaf of Publix onion rye bread. It rules. Onion rye and peanut butter...sounds gross, tastes great.

Agree totally. Two of the top three players in the current world use this strategy.

For whatever reason there is a sizeable market for pairs like ORD-MDW, DCA-IAD, JFK-EWR-LGA, CDG-ORY and the like. Doesn't matter. Also, there is no perimeter rule for DCA or LGA.

No plane size limitation either. You can fly 744s or whatever to DCA if you want.

So to get off to a fast start, pick a hub that has a ton of short routes nearby, such as the US East coast or LHR, so that your initial planes can get 6 or 7 turns in a day. As soon as you can afford another plane, buy it, and as soon as you run out of 1x service possibilities with the cheapy planes, open up another focus city as fast as possible. Don't go jet until you have maximized your routes with the props at the maximum number of hubs.

I don't know what the future world looks like, in the current one, my CDG hub was awesome for the above reason. Tonnes of short haul routes, and basically all of Europe can be served by the fairly cheap ATR72. I wasted a lot of time building HKG and PEK before realizing the benefits of CDG. If I had started at CDG rather than HKG/PEK, I could have been closer to the top in rankings. But because I wasted my initial few days at HKG/PEK, all I can do is to keep myself around 70-80% value of the top guys. No possible way to catch up.

The ATR-72 is a great plane beacuse of its range, followed by the 733 with the engine that extends it range to 3975 miles. Just because CO won't run those to Europe doesn't mean you can't in AM. Don't go long haul until you've effectively run out of short haul routes, which is probably 2x per day at most. When you do go long haul, the 762-ER has incredible range.

I tried the XAC Y-7, which is a Chinese clone of the An-24. It has limited range, but with 52 seats and half the price of the ATR72, it can make tonnes of money quickly if you have enough short routes around your hub. I got rid of it later on, but it's a worthy starter aircraft.

Because of great results of the ATR72, I later went with the BAe ATP. 2 fewer seats, same price, but has much longer range. No use in Europe, but in Asia (and I assume N. America as well), that means more coverage than the ATR72.

Instead of the 733, I went with the 734 for its extra seats. The longer range routes I use the 752. Don't know which is the better strategy.

Check the price difference and the range for each engine choice, when available. I have two types of 762ERs - mostly cheaper and shorter range ones that will cover most markets, and now I'm starting to get the super long-range. There's no point of paying more for a super long-range 762 and not utilizing its full potential.

Some planes just have poor economics, as those who bought my two A300B2 may have found out. Sorry! :p I thought that plane in real life was built for short-haul, high-density European markets, so they should be fine in AM, right? But no, I think they're probably only good for dumping seats to crush competition, but they are not good money makers.

Me neither. The daily income is so small anyways, I doubt the difference would be significant.

Another thing I haven't figured out is this. Each plane type has a "withdrawn date". Does it mean it won't be offered after certain year, or does it mean the planes in service will be grounded? I hope it's just the former.

One last thought I have. Aircraft utilization is an issue with the longhaul aircraft, and that can become an issue if the world last long enough to go longhaul. Some hubs are horrible in this, like HKG or PEK. Flying to Europe takes up like 14 hours, but there are very few markets to put the expensive plane for the remaning 10. An Europe hub is good for this. 14 hours for Asia, 10 for N. America.

But there's an even better idea that I have, but won't be able to do it in the current world. That's to have a hub on the US East Coast, plus two in Asia; or reverse. Say that includes PEK and JFK. One can make tonnes of money with a huge fleet of 762/3 doing PEK-LHR/CDG/FRA/AMS/MAD/FCO/MUC/LGW/BCN/etc-JFK. No need to join an alliance.

I have to say in exit rows, the 738 is by far the most comfortable padding and seat overall. The 737 has basically limitless legroom but the hard armrest that is more than just a rest, like a console, scores some minus points from me. The 753 gives me a buttache like nothing else, I hate it!

At least one person agrees with me about the 753 seats at least the orignal to CO fleet (no real issue with ex ATA)

I am currently signing my son up for summer school. Didn't matter how many times I beat him up with the verbal do your homework, he still has an F in spanish class. Of course it didn't help that his teacher decided that a 50 point test required a 100% for a grade, miss one and you get a big fat .

So now I get to keep my fingers crossed that his class will start at 10am instead of 8am.

Sounds like "Sunday" in my world, except replace "pool-side" with "on the elevated (and covered) deck", "Publix" with "Kroger", "on ice" with "in the fridge", "Kindle" with "NASCAR".

I like that idea, but this v2.0 world will be probably half as long and no TARPing. I'm going to do something in Box AM v2.0 that I've always wanted to do in AM...<devious grin>
