I haven't watched hockey except for a few minutes in a bar since the lockout. I used to be a fixture at the Capital Centre / USAir Arena in the early 1990's.

Plus, open wheel cars make the occasional RIGHT turn in every race, not just once a year. :p

Cup - Sonoma (Infineon) and Watkins Glen
Nationwide - Watkins Glen and Circuit Gilles Villeneuve (plus Mexico City - which I liked - the last couple years)

Don't bother inconveniencing yourself with a trip to the store. I already bought the winning ticket ::p

Something else I forgot about my golf experience today.

Me: "I'd like to book a time for tomorrow."
Schmuck behind desk: "What time would you like, sir?"
Me: "What do you have?" (Fool for me to think that on a gorgeous weekend such as this that there would be lots of openings for tomorrow, Saturday.)
SBD: "What time would you like, sir?"

My domestic network is shaping up nicely, thanks to PSU. A few more IRL days and it should be complete.

How so?

I'm not sure if the game will feel like a second job in v2.. I don't want to take a spot out of the 25 if someone really wants to play. You can put me at the bottom and if I fall off at 26, it's no skin off my nose.

Yeah...for whatever reason I can't see the FT crowd at large embracing NASCAR. Call it whatever: stereotypical reasons, gut reaction, not sure. It's a very diverse and international/multicultural crowd. IMO, F1 is a barrier breaker and NASCAR can be the opposite.

If F1 had more passing I would like it a lot more. I'd rather watch drivers drive on a track that turns left and right instead of an oval. That said, F1 can get bogged down into follow the leader because they can c-block you on the course until pit time.

I like the first tee time (when rarely available):

A. I set my pace, and
B. I get less broiled.

My last round was a birthday "gift" with an afternoon tee time on a 106 degree heat index day. I got mocked when I called ahead for bottles of Gatorade and potato chips (salt).

Not my first one though, as I had a similar little jolt a few years ago in Anchorage. But this one was definitely more noticeable, and shook for longer (maybe 20-30 seconds).

Several years ago I was sitting in SNA airport waiting for my flight to EWR and an earthquake hit in Eureka CA. The airport walls trembled, tables began shaking wildy and the drinks on the table slid off and I thought the whole airport was going to collapse around us. People were running outside; meanwhile, I just sat there and watched, thinking: "I sure as heck can't outrun this one, so I may as well continue to enjoy my drink".

In NASCAR, the better car can gently coax/persuade a leader to give up the preferred line.

I was considering only having 3 of the beers in my 6 pack while pool-side. But it is do nice out and I've already had the three and am still thirsty. Woe is me. :p

The HH at FLL is phenomenal for planespotting. The props approach directly over the pool and there is a patio on 8 with great views of most of the field. I don't have my long lens with me this trip. :(

Very good point. I'd like to do The Petty Experience, and almost did at Daytona this past September...I'll get around to it at some point.

I have done the Petty Experience , you don't drive . It was cool but not worth the fee.
I think the one at disney you actually drive the car.

I thought The Petty Experience had options where you can drive solo.

In other news, four 763ER's on order, four sets of routes planned. I have to open new routes so I can stay making the same money since Pimpslap seems to be engaging in race to the bottom business techniques.

There are a number of different packages - the low-level one was ~$100 and you're a passenger. The higher-end packages have more laps and you driving (with or without following a pace-setter).

I appreciate the tech of open wheel immensely. Not so much the racing, though. I've also treated myself to one of the stock car driving experiences and have a Goodyear Racing Eagle in my laundry room to become a coffee table one day. This one pre-dates teams being required to lease the tires, came off Brett Bodine's car his last full year in Cup ...

I had a number of tires in my basement before I was married, but .....

Got mine in my 12 years of working open wheel racing events here in Cleveland, plus a number of other mementos and great memories.
