Any update on the Freddie Awards? Did CO win anything?

CO won a special award for the poker tournament. They were also the only legacy carrier to consistently place in the top 5. I think they did a bit better than last year.

I'm going to try Orbitz tomorrow (per ALCO's instructions) and see what happens.

Sounds like a case of certain segments not having A bucket availability. Seatcounter can help check each individual segment. Otherwise, if searching on Teh Orbitz, it likes to put you on US Metal via UA Codeshares. I think Orbitz doesn't like to spit back itins with Ted Y Cabins where you've specified F as your preferred cabin. Accordingly, if you search via multi-city on Orbitz, you have to look for TPA-PHL, PHL-CLT, CLT-ONT, ONT-PHL, PHL-CLT, CLT-TPA as your six segments.

Best to try and find UA flights that have A bucket availability. A six segment multi-city TPA-IAD, IAD-SFO, SFO-ONT (and the reverse) ought to do the trick. Be sure to select "Economy - Lowest Available," "Nonstop," and don't tick the "Star Alliance" box when completing the search via .bomb. If the A bucket is available on the F cabin segments, you should book into first on all segments except the TPA-IAD legs.

US is now going to sell checked baggage fees/chit online. And charge an extra $5 "service fee" if you buy them at the airport. Race to the bottom, anyone?

My first time seeing Jimmy Kimmel in a while. He's finally in HD.^ Took 'em forever. But, of course, the ABC owned & operated stations are adding another HD channel (.2 on antenna systems), to further degrade their 720p picture.

Being that so many people seem happy to watch a highly compressed analog signal stretched to 16:9, they won't notice the difference.

It's like the flat screen TV at the Courtyard I stayed at. It was 16:9 analog stretch-o-vision. Yuck. I would have preferred the old 4:3 analog tube TV.

I make it a point to complain when hotels do that.

Let me guess: Singapore and Virgin.

Virgin winning first wouldn’t surprise me. I always thought they were an amazing airline from the few times I have flown them. Twice in economy and twice in upper class. They really know how to pamper their upper class passengers. Very friendly employees, great lounges and just an amazing experience. I just can’t wait to fly them again.

I have also heard very good things about SQ also and I am looking forward to flying them ones we join *A. if I can find a decent business class fare to HKG I will try them. My comfort is worth paying a little extra for 32 hours of flying. I tried the new bf seat and did not fit comfortably in it at all. At nearly 6’5” it was a no go for me

No, you're not the only one, because I read this following post:

and decided to check it out. Well, it IS a huge improvement.

Anyways, they shut down Hollywood Blvd @ Vine tonite for the Depeche Mode concert during taping of Jimmy Kimmel, in front of the new W.

:rolleyes::rolleyes: for the camera work that zooms into the big "W" sign every 2 seconds. :td:

Irony is that the new song DM performed is called "Wrong". W = Wrong. @:-)
