kind of sad that Warped Airlines is ran worse than US :o.

Opened up the curtains in the hotel room in SYD and observed that I had a ninth floor view looking out on the runways. the angle is not as good as a place like In'n'out at LAX and the traffic consists of lots of QF and DJ 737s interspersed with the occasional widebody from anywhere in Asia, but still would be airplane geek heaven, especially if he had brought a pair of field glasses.

xyzzy,
HOW do you get from EU to Oz, with the planes you have?! That is one freaky route map. And max 7 hours....you must be having a concord, but I don't see such! |

I do at some point want to try Geno's, because I support Joey Vento emotionally. I never did eat on South Street, so that might be the way to go.

It's really just a matter of which train to take.

and then last night I was looking for some EWR-CLE options for going home in late June, checked the "search nearby airports," and found that I could, in fact, go LGA-PIT for $96 (pre-tax) r/t - wow! Obviously, PIT is too far away to be feasible, but MORE noteworthy is that most of those flights were ALSO IN A DASH 8. 331 miles. You've got to be kidding me... So, if you were going to rent a car anyway, and your final destination is East Cleveland or parts south, then PIT is a good option. |

There's a way to empirically test that hypothesis.

RCC club in SNA
I know that this has been discussed before, and I didn't think it warrented reviving an old thread. Anyway, I had my first experience with the RCC club(s) and I thought that it was ok. I have one gripe which has been mentioned before, and that is the lack of internet access for PC members. I think that CO really will need to address this specific issue with UA. Unlike alcohol consumption, which does cost UA money, access to the internet for all members of the RCC is not something that can increase club costs all that much for UA (I think, but I am not an expert on providing internet access to clubs). I was not happy that I could not do any work at SNA, yet the club was clean, the snacks were standard fare, and the ladies manning the desk polite and friendly.
I am not discussing the lack of alcohol since I do not drink and therefore the lack or adult beverages without cost does not impact me. (I realize that it is an important issue to others!). However, I would think that internet access could be provided for little additional cost. Anyway, I know that I am going to get to see more RCC clubs in the near future since I have 2 trips to OHR in the next 2 weeks (after 6/1). Maybe someone will be nice enought to let me use their RCC number to sign onto the system. |
I am trying to figure out where to take my wife for our first wedding anniversary... I thought BZE, but I'd like to take her somewhere new. Some choices are POS, BDA, SXM, or RTB.
BDA is a pain from IAH since you have to go through EWR and spend the night unless you take the 6am flight. EWR-SXM is a 752 in July ^ Is it easy to get from the French side of SXM to the Dutch side? I'd like to do some spotting if we go there, but I think we'd stay on the French side of the island. |
I have had a real  day. Hardly got any sleep last night and woke up at 6 for OT today. I worked until 1:30pm when I received a call from the nursing home my grandmother is a resident of. They tell me she fell at 10am and has been confused ever since. They put her back in bed :mad: and finally decide at 1:30 due to the fact that her mental status has deteriorated to call an ambulance because now she is unresponsive. They do not put the call into the 9-1-1 system, because I do not get the call, they instead call a private ambulance transport company that takes 30 minutes  to respond and transports my UNRESPONSIVE grandmother to a hospital located 20 minutes away, not the hospital located on the same campus as the nursing home with no ALS. (Advanced Life Support (belynch, do you believe this crap?))
Well apparently, they thought she had a stroke at first, but she does not have any of the risk factors for your typical stroke patient. It turns out her blood sugar was 25 (normal is about 100) and that caused her unresponsiveness and altered level of consciousness. I am glad she is ok now and I am getting ready for a nice 3 hour nap before working the midnight shift now. AAAAARRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH Incompetent nursing home staff……… |
