Most fun rental I ever had was a Shelby from Hertz. My enabler, Baglady, gave me the go ahead and I was able to negotiate a deal on a late night upgrade in LAS.

The valet guys at the hotel put 10 miles on it. ^

On a MR today and now I remember why I don't travel during spring break. As a guy behind me said, Amateur Day . If it wasn't for the DEQMs....

My flights today were fine. But leaving IAH, my gate was next to an earlly morning LAS flight that was so full of Kettles that I thought I was at HOU watching a flight load to Dogpatch.

The Accord is not the only growing car at Honda. I think that if you looked at a current Civic, you'd notice the dimensions are pretty darn close to the Accords of days gone by.

Just got back from picking up all the vino for the wedding. Chilean Red (Montes Cabernet-Carmenere), Argentinean White (El Portillo Sauvignon Blanc), and Californian Sparkling (Domaine Chandon Pinot Noir Brut). Wonder if she'll notice if I crack into the cases? :D

For even more fun, throw together IAH-AUS-IAH-PHL-IAH-SJC-IAH-PHL-IAH-AUS-IAH. :D

hmmm....

So here's what I'm thinking, I am open to opinions.

Buy an IAH-AUS one-way, a AUS-PHL roundtrip, and nest a PHL-SJC inside of that. Then an AUS-IAH one-way to end it.

I think it will take an entire weekend but should only cost $400 and be something like 20k EQMs

She'll notice. There's a reason my S/O had her parents worry about the wine. ;)

Do it.

Well, she is in town, and she is planning on taking it all back to MSY with her. I figured I might be able to sneak a bottle of the Cab unnoticed (or, at least not noticed until she's a 5 hour drive away :D)

I'd see if you can price it all out as 6 one ways (IAH-AUS, AUS-PHL, PHL-SJC, SJC-PHL, PHL-AUS and AUS-IAH) to maximize travel bank credits. :D With WN in all of those markets, it may work.

Let me know when you'd be doing the PHL-SJC segments...

Really? I find the TL just fine in the driver's seat.

The exterior of the new Accord has slowly grown on me. However, I still prefer the previous generation. And I'm not a fan of the interior; they took what was an uncluttered, easy to use system for the audio and climate systems and switched everything to rows and rows of buttons, and it's a mess now. Not a fan at all. Reminds me of some of the first driver information systems and automatic climate control systems on high-end GMs in the early/mid-1980s where there were tons of buttons. The old layout Honda had was so much nicer than this current setup. And the elimination of touch-screen controls on the nav system and going to a dial that you turn to make choices is just retarded, and a huge step backward.

If the Honda system of which you speak is anywhere close in -ness to that godawful BMW iDrive system with the big clunky center console knob then I'll pass. And yeah, I thought the TL seat was rather tight and I didn't think it was due to fat as much as it was height. Maybe after I trim myself up and am in the new car market I'll have to try again, since I know you are taller and thinner than I am.

From quite a distance. When I praised the Accord I was comparing it to others in its class. For goodness sakes, it is merely a front-drive economy family sedan (mostly found in this country with automatic shift) and nowhere near the equal of most BMWs built in the last fifteen years.

Oh, of course. I never said the new Accords could hold a candle to anything coming from BMW. My comment was meant to be exclusively a visual assertion.

The 4 cyl handles better than the V6 of my era's because of the weight difference. Except for the transmission, it's been ultra reliable (bad tranny design used on Accords and Acuras that year) It was the first not luxury car to come with an in dash 6 CD player and it even has a tape player in the unit too. The side airbags were also rare for it's class at the time.

It is called the Acura TSX. Which is the Honda Accord in most parts of the world.

I haven't been before, so I have no idea where it is on the island, other than it takes about 45 minutes to get there from the airport, I think!! Who cares! It's 85 degrees and sunny. Yeah! Bye-bye cold old NJ, and hello sunshine!

:D

Enjoy your trip! Do watch out for the donkeys, though. They roam the roads as if they owned them. In fact, they probably do.

She won't if every case that is still there is intact. And if one happens to go missing and gets cracked away from the rest... I doubt anyone will notice.
