They've been gone for a while. Last time I saw them was probably in 2006.

I just have to vent. Why the heck does the state of Louisiana feel the need to close one lane of I-12 for a good 20 miles, while repaving the freeway at night? Especially when they were only working on about 1 mile of that section at any given moment?
It should not take well over two hours to drive from Baton Rouge to Slidell, especially after 8:00 PM when traffic is fairly light. At least half the drive to Atlanta is behind me. Tomorrow I do the rest — Biloxi-Atlanta. I'll be driving Houston to Destin this Friday. Any report on the remainder of the route? |
It's been a while since I've seen them on NW. 2006 is probably right.

Clearly I'm behind the times, though I could swear I had them on my flights last year. But who knows, it's been so long.

Alas, no conspiracy. The longhaul SVO-HKG segment did post this morning, though. OSL-SVO-HKG...a hair over 15K RDM for a little less than $400. Sweet :D
I'm just over 40k right now... |

ALCO, your total BIS for 2008 makes me extremely jealous! :p It's only late May too!
I'm just over 40k right now... Also, though not the best fare in the world, I noticed This on FareCompare YUP search yesterday. Note the fourth fare from the top...SEA-YXE (Saskatoon) for $813 as an MUAUP fare. I can't seem to find that fare on KVS, can't get it to price at that rate on United.com, and can't get any routing rules. If anyone knows what the deal is with that fare, I'd be quite interested in knowing. Saskatoon sounds like a fun place to fly to in F for the heck of it. |
I am at 46K, it will be slightly over 50k when I finish the ATL-POS run, but I will not have anything close to the otter's total.

Aside from my July 4 IAH-FRA-CPT-FRA-MXP-JFK-MIA-IAH, I don't think it will go too much higher.
I keep a steady pace through the year and just eek past 75k in December. I am dying for a long haul though - it's been a few months!

You still have me pretty impressed as I know you have mentioned you do this all via leisure trips.

Got lucky at the end of last year. There was a bonanza of mistake fares and good Q-UPs, so I front-loaded 2008 with lots of travel. Given the present state of the airline industry and fuel prices, it's not something I expect to occur again. I'm happy with the results of the freak occurrence, though. :D
I may try to go infinite on UA, by flying then complaining about something and getting a cert to subsidize my next flight on them. The ATL-LAX in F fare seems to be gone, I can't get it to route through IAD anymore. I really only want to do *A long haul as I do not have status on UA or US and riding in Y on those airlines seems sub-optimal when I can get upgraded on CO for the same route. |

In other news, my EQM's for this year are pretty low. Only 18k on CO, which is probably the lowest its ever been on my "carrier of choice" since I started my "professional life." It's diluted thanks to some trips on other carriers, but mainly my company has been shying away from travel thanks to the cost of everything. Only 2 trips booked for June so far. Both only East coast hops. :( Probably one out to the West Coast at the end of June, another definite in July, and then - uhm - who knows. I'm confident I'll make Plat for 09, but it probably won't be until Dec. and I might have to fly to SAV for Christmas via IAH to accomplish it. The nature of my job is I generally don't know where I'll be more than a week in advance, so there's a possibility I could have over 100k EQM's by Sept. But, as of right now, all is quiet on the horizon. :( |
