Greetings from a somewhat tacky Sheraton in TPA. It's warm here, so I guess I don't care what my hotel is like!

While watching a spring training game in Orlando this afternoon, I heard the sonic boom of the Shuttle shortly before it landed in Cape Canaveral - very cool! It shook the entire stadium. ^

I'd like to file a complaint with the  DOT. BA is a foreign owned carrier and prohibited from operating in the US....:D:D:D

belynch Mar 28, 2009 3:53 pm

So I just started with AM. How do I procure a plane...?

And why are there no normal airports listed for "home bases"?

Xyzzy Mar 28, 2009 4:00 pm

AM #2 -- sign me up, but wait a few days to start...

penultimate B:rolleyes:x BBQ D:rolleyes: II note -- Team Xyzzy leaves in a few minutes... and we're likely to be a couple of minutes late. I'm calling Big Ed's now to warn them of our pending arrival. The reservation will be in the name, "Team R:rolleyes:olleyes" once again.

Xyzzy Mar 28, 2009 4:16 pm

This is my last message before departure for Big Ed's -- I've called ahead for Team R:rolleyes:lleyes at 6:45pm...

IMHO, oil and breading cannot remove the nastiness from a pickle. (In fairness, I can't do most foods that are placed in holding tanks of liquid...pickles, capers, olives...yeggh.)

Oil and breading cover a multitude of sins.:D Including calamari. Pickles and beer consumed....yummy.

ONly time I eat pickle is in tarter sauce, with plenty onion! Hrm got to thinking, spanish olives also horrible, it is is green and pickles possibly with the exception of jalopenos, it isn't good. I prefer fresh jalapeno but can stand a good pickled jalapeno.

I suppose pickles are a subjective thing. I can eat a whole jar of Tony Packo's pickles 'n peppers at one sitting.
I love good olives but they can get expensive.
To kick up cheap olives a bit, I'll mix 'em up with some pickled jalapeno & keep the jar hanging out in the fridge. ^

Who uses a 744 on LAX-DEN????

UA has been known to use one from SFO-LAX, especially on days when they cancel most of their flights and need to move the masses down south.

If you have time drive over to the Space Center. I love it there and you can spend all day checking out all the neat stuff they have on display.

What was the white wine? Is it ever good (okay, one time to NRT it was okay). Huh, in the middle of a hotel. Well, welcome to PTY

Our nanny got diverted to SAT Wed night. They ran out of ALL alcohol on the flight and she said she thought they were going to revolt. Pax were saying if they could load more snacks, why couldn't they load more alcohol? A very good point imho.

Well the food probably came from the terminal wereas the alcohol would have to come from catering and I am sure that CO only caters SAT flights outta IAH.

I need to make it down to PTY soon!

Come to the Houston DO on Apr 18th and you'll knock off a few of us ;)

Go to bed at a decent time and wake up early. Not that I ever do that, but it's my advice. I always love my 7 a.m. flight out of OMA but have to leave EAR at 3 a.m. to make that flight.

I too would like to join the fun on Apr 18 but that is Easter weekend I believe.

An object lesson indeed on why you should always select rows 1 thru 4 if you have the chance.

Yes it is and it's also wise to know that you might lose that bulk head or reclining emergency exit rows, since those can change from aircraft to aircraft. For some reason the reac system doesn't see the bulkhead or exit rows as special, just another seat number.

Pickles, olives. Yummy. I know who I can get them from at restaurants now. Strangely I like the black olives you can stick on your fingers.

Kosher pickles...yum. Green olives...yum. Spent too many years sticking those black olives on my fingers that I no longer will eat them. I do still stick them on my fingers at Thanksgiving and my kids just shake their heads in horror. :D
