I'm enjoying my new favorite cocktail, best enjoyed at a DL CRC (as they have decent Bourbon). Bourbon, Cran-Apple Juice & Ginger-Ale. Quite tasty. ^

You used Woodford Reserve for a mixed drink? Good thing this wasn't posted in the (SkyTeam partner) Lounge.

MSY CRC has only Maker's, which is perfectly acceptable for mixing.

Maker's is fine for mixing. Are you still performing the bump dance?

So would it be worth it for me to attain 1k on UA and stick with say Silver or Gold on CO?
For me, I'm too cheap to pay the W fare for SWU usage when cheaper fares are there. Plus, I'm halfway to 1MM and I want that before I switch loyalty. I will need to find a second program and cash out my BD points, I suppose, but that's not such a big deal. I'm intrigued by OW and could probably start making some of those routings work, but BA confuses me to no end. The whole TP earning for elite status thing is just strange. I'm sure I could figure it out eventually, but it seems that they basically don't grant status for cheap fares, so that would exclude me. My Easter HAM weekend may switch to TXL. It is within $20 and gets me an A300 on the FRA-TXL segment, plus 4 hours in FRA to enjoy some lounge time rather than a 1 hour connection in ZRH. |

The AA Plat chaalenge can be done more than once in a lifetime as long as it is not in consecutive years, correct?

Got about half of my LIM photos up. Just editing and uploading them had me itching to go back.

I'm prepared to go the BA route without even worrying about status. I'll just earn my miles on Q-UPs and take advantage of BA's low redemption rates to IPC. It will be a wholly opportunistic endeavor. Earning miles for one big burn. Granted, someone with OW status may get treated better during irrops. However, on a paid F fare (even a cheap Q-UP), I doubt I'll be at the bottom of the priority list for rerouting during irrops.

AA treats even non-statused flyers well during irrops. |
Go Siena! :D

You got screwed somewhat decently, but it sounded like it worked out fairly well. The last time I was in that situation at EWR, my bag went on to my final destination and took two days to return. I would ask for another 25% discount code as part of your compensation. Now, you can use the refunded cash to take advantage of the cheap fares that are still out there and earn double EQMs.
On another note - SPG Platinum Concierge was awesome, and got my points back for the hotel stay in Milan. She had to call the hotel manager there and negotiate, but she did it. ^^ I already see those points back in my account. |
We were driving to the Galleia today and witnessed something strange. A WN flight was making its way out of town over our place but then turned around and immediately put its gear down. (planes on approach usually do not put their gear down until they are way south of us)
I'm wondering if there was some problem because you could hear the engines being run up and then idled. |
