That's a heavy travel weekend so I'd doubt you'd find anything cheap.

Cool. One of my Norwegian Fjord Photos got used in a Travel Blog.

Did they at least ask for your permission?

BTW, nice shot! ^

Thanks. It's Creative Commons licensed, and there's attribution provided at the bottom of the Blog.

VX Visa Offer is a total joke. 5,000 Signing bonus (2,500 of which is contingent upon a balance transfer of $2,500), and pitiful earnings. Just checked point requirements for F on SFO-BOS with VX... 48,000. I think I'll be tossing their credit card offer.

I think that came in my mail yesterday. Utterly craptastic. I'm still waiting for a good Amex Plat offer that even comes close to justifying a year of the fee for the points involved.

Yes. They don't take kindly to merchants committing fraud who (unsurprisingly) refuse to furnish additional information to Amex about a transaction due to its fraudulent nature.

Gotta love Amex going after that. ^ That happened to me with one my own vendors in ACY. The guy who put together the Bethpage Black trip needed a party bus and later cancelled it, but as a favor to him, I held the reservation with my Amex. (Like I'm going to tell him no after he bought me a round at the Black.) I called the dispatcher to cancel the job, and it was cancelled in their schedule, but $1230 ends up on my Card. I asked the limo company to pull the charge on their end several times, of course to no avail...one of my own vendors made me go the dispute plus 30 days route.

CLE is a mess - the snow has not stopped since last night and streets are almost impassable. I live on a main road (Bunts/W140) and the city (Lakewood) is using conga lines to keep it passable.

I am sure the airport is doing a great job with it, but what a mess!

I had booked an AUS-PDX run for that weekend and yesterday my wife says "I didn't realize I have that Monday off"... Neither did I. Had we known we could have taken a short trip together instead of me doing a MR. :(

What an Awesome deal.

It's only $200 if you have UA status. I've done it once or twice, but for longer domestic flights on international 767/777 equipment where it was a cheap upgrade to a C flight on a 4+ hour flight.

Personally, I would opt for the SPG Amex. Lower annual fee, usually better bonus offers for initial sign-up, and the Transferability is ^ on many carriers (2:1 on CO/UA, meh), including carriers that can generally be difficult to accrue points with otherwise:

Are the DO surroundings DSLR-friendly or should I bring the fiancee's P&S just to make life easier?

I opt for the pocket camera to make life easier and not stress.

A DSLR is doable, though, IMO, if one wants to go that route.
