Looking at the CO.com specials (which I once again did not get an e-mail for) I may have to make a trip to LGA or maybe south after looking at the weather up there.

I suspect those are fields that are least likely to engage in ediscovery or other IT-based legal support services.

Electronic discovery is, of course, huge in the area of litigation but also M/A, bankruptcy and FCPA. My focus is on the growing area of international e-discovery and the different methodologies required in foreign countries.

I don’t think it was an unreasonable request. There are other W hotels that have the “intimacy kits”. The W/W person should have just did his job and get the guys his stuff.

I myself would have never made that request. I would have just gone myself, but that’s just me.

So I should not have resigned via e-mail?

My boss is never here and when he is, he does not have time to talk to me. The way I see it, he did not deserve me hunting him down and turning in a physical letter.

It all depends on the situation.

I see my boss 1-2 times a year as we are typically in different parts of the world, but even then if I resigned I'd likely call him on his mobile and talk with him about it, but I could see some emailing the formal part in such a case ;)

Of course I get along well with my boss as report directly to him daily via email and internal IM.

I think you sometimes have to adopt to your boss. I prefer to talk in person with my boss about a lot of situations but back in August he moved from our main location to our support location 8 to 10 miles away and I would go days without seeing him. It makes a work situation tough but I am still glad to be moving on.

I know the W Lakeshore has these kits , and I have seen them at every other W . So there is no reason why the W/W staff should be surprised or  at such a request .

I should note that I did attempt to call him multiple times before sending the e-mail out.

To be honest, I'm surprised he actually received the e-mail as quickly as he did. During an assignment in rural Canada I needed to get in contact with him and phones were out of the question, so I shot off a quick e-mail from a co-worker's BB. I never received a reply, well, until I had already returned to the states two weeks later

It all depends on the situation but I would say it sounds like you did the right thing here. I once had to leave a voice mail and e-mailed a pdf letter because I was in a different office at the time from my boss and everyone back in the main office was on vacation. I had to do that to start the two week clocking ticking.

That is a funny thread. I wonder how the "friend' of the poster asked for the slippery stuff? That could have been comedy in it self.

Freezing rain and an ATR. That's a known bad combo. Glad to hear the crew made it out safe.

Anyone know if an AC Codeshare on UA Metal can be upgraded with a UA instrument?

ConciergeMike Jan 27, 2009 7:42 am

Morning, Box. Let it snow, let it snow.
