And this is a top-flight all-boys Catholic private school, at which the female dates are typically from one of two similarly elite schools. The girls put the guys to shame.

For tonight's wedding, I saw one of the best bag tags ever. Someone flew in for the wedding from BAH and did BAH-CDG on GF, and CDG-BOS on AA. The tag ended there, so I'm guessing it was Amtrak or something past that.

I don't know nothin' about tips, except that if there's a lot of folks at a table, at least the kind of dives I tend to eat in flat rate the tip into the bill.

Oh sure, for the banquets side of the equation (servers primarily) that's true. Not for us. People are sometimes unwilling to hide the naked ambition they have to not pay for parking, or believe that because the tag has a lower number that they're getting a better deal.

I've had people unload vehicles in the driveway and then move on to self-park. The price difference for self and valet is $6, and I've seen couples argue over it while the driveway backs up behind them. Also, self-park charges you every time you exit and re-enter, where we do not. Explaining that valet can be the better deal depending on how much you're using your car takes up precious time on busy days and depending on the comprehension level on the other side (Delduhware, remember) it could be a long process.

I have one more stop to make today at Home Depot to buy house paint while it is on sale, though I'm still not sure if I have a painter. Last I heard, the insurance had 'just expired in April' and he was going to renew it and get back to me. Maybe I'll be painting the house this summer after all.

Yeah, for a social ob in which you've already sunk time, gift, gas, baby sitting, dry cleaning, and likely a new dress/shoes, you'd think the cost of a McDonald's meal to not shlep over from self parking would be a no-brainer. But I'm sure it's not always.

Had two vegetable beds loaded with tomatoes last year. Produced like gang-busters and we still have tons canned in the basement. Unfortunately we moved recently and I don't think we're going to get things organized for growing anything this year :td:

Never mind social events like weddings. All of the above happens for leisure hotel stays. Granted we're by no means a bargain-basement property, but if you're paying $399/night with no point earning other than the form of payment, and a $6 parking differential creates a schism, then may I suggest that you consider another vacation destination.
