To the Houstonians in the Box: what sort of home would $350,000 buy me down there?

sdm1130 has a spot on response. It depends on the area of the city you want to live in. In my area, $350K will get you a very nice townhouse. In downtown, it will get you a very nice loft. Outside the loop, $350K gets you a McMansion on a few McAcres. And there are some nice family oriented cities away from downtown: Katy, Sugarland, Stafford (no property taxes in this city), Pearland, Richmond, The Woodlands to name a few. I'm sure Baglady and Plus1 could chime in as well. They live in the 'burbs. I second his suggestion to checking out http://www.har.com.^

Good evening from a very roomy suite at the 4pts Rancho Cucamonga. This indeed is a very nice room for said hotel. ^

Time for bed so we can start early on the drive to PSP tomorrow.

Just had a wake up call from the little one. Took her out for 5 minutes so that she could see we're okay. Put her back in her bed without incident. Good night/morning. Hopefully CM has a decent night in tips and other "stuff.";)

From what we've seen in the $350-400k range inside the loop, you can get a 3BR townhouse or single family home with very nice finishes or a pretty nicely restored craftsman style home. Check MLS areas 9, 16 and 17 on har.com.

Go outside of the loop and, in some areas, you can get a 5-6BR home on a few acres.

Are you thinking of moving to Houston?

Maybe a few years down the road. There might be some good opportunities down there. I would want to live inside the loop, though.

Greetings from the DCA P Club. Outbound flight is delayed 45 minutes because the inbound crew was delayed last night by the thunderstorms in the area. Some unhappy folks are going to miss their connections in IAH.

Some Texas Rep was just in the P Club, and the agent changed him to an aisle seat from a window seat in F. I think it may have been Ruben Hinojosa, but I'm not positive.

Yikes just looked at EWR-SFO in July and what the heck is going on? :td:

The Otter One just texted me and said that AirTran is offering 2 roundtrips to fly tomorrow to DCA vs. Today. That is crazy!! Dont know how easy their vouchers are to use but if they are easy to use on any flight those are great deals!!

The Hilton was INP. The HS was the closest I could get. It's not that far from downtown, about 1.5 miles, but totally not designed for walking. I have rental car, but there are also shuttles all over being provided by the festival organizers.

LOL. No, and they would not care if they did.

You must be channelling my Mom. Whenever I complained about something, anything, her response was, "Well, it's better than a sharp stick in the eye".

Homewood breakfast time. Later, Box.

Nifty, CO rotated the equipment schedule around last night apparently. My 735 for AUS - EWR and EWR - CLT is now a 738 and a 73G respectively. ^
