Car insurance rates jumped by 20% for no reason for this premium period. Agent says "yeah, small rate increase. Sorry about that."

Small?

I don't get it, insurance is a complete commodity. Why would someone jack prices by 20% for a good (pay on time, no claims -- ever) customer and not expect them to defect? I just changed insurance carriers in about 6 minutes and saved $200.

AllState has some huge balls to try and pull that .

They pretty much did the same thing to me many :rolleyes:s ago. I switched easy peasy. The only rationalization I could come up with is they didn't want me as a customer anymore.

I'm going to take a nap. And get up on Dog Standard Time, when he comes in and tells me it's time to eat.

I had to bail on Allstate for the same crap. When we moved to The Great State of Texas from California, our rate rose $250 per six months. It jumped like that when I moved too California which is to be a tad bit more expected. I went with Esurance for a while and when their rates got , I rolled over to Geico. They raised the rate $9 for the next six months which I can deal with.

Insurance is .

I got a 2-point ticket recently after several years of totally being a good boy. If my company jacks me up unreasonably, it'll be off to USAA I go.

After the wedding, check rates. You'll be surprised how much going from being single to being married apparently makes you so much more responsible and safe.

In NY you can take a class and get a few points to keep from counting against you insurance wise.

State Farm. And I let my new agent know that I'm going to her because she supports the non-profit I'm on the board of.

Good does go around.
